Riddell District Football League
The Riddell District Football Netball League (RDFNL) is an Australian rules football and netball league in Victoria, Australia. The RDFNL covers towns in the Macedon Ranges and an area from Melton in the south to Kyneton and Lancefield in the north. The league also runs junior competitions from Under 9 to Under 17 age groups. Brief history 1910s The Riddell District Football Association was formed in May 1912 from the following clubs: New Gisborne, Riddell, and Sunbury. Riddells Creek, Victoria
Riddells Creek is a town in Victoria, Australia, located in Wurundjeri Country and the Shire of Macedon Ranges. It is located in between the cities of Bendigo and Melbourne. Riddells Creek is also the name of the main watercourse which flows through the township, and which is a tributary of Jacksons Creek to the south. Jarryd Allen (born 14 January 1988) is a former Australian rules football Australian football, also called Australian rules football or Aussie rules, or more simply football or footy, is a contact sport played between two teams of 18 players on an Australian rules football playing field, oval field, often a modified ...er for the AFL's St Kilda Football Club. He was drafted with the 59th selection by the Saints in the 2006 AFL draft from TAC Cup club, the Calder Cannons. On the first of September 2009, he announced his retirement at St Kilda's best and fairest. In the first quarter of the 2008 Semi Final against Collingwood, he received a heavy knock to his hip, which required surgery. It was serious enough to sideline him for the entire 2009 season. After what seemed to be a successful rehabilitation, he had arthroscopy, which revealed he had lost too much cartilage in the hip. After 4 senior games, he retired choosing quality of life. Tom Sheridan (footballer)
Tom Sheridan (born 28 October 1993) is a former Australian rules footballer who last played for the Greater Western Sydney Giants in the Australian Football League (AFL), after previously playing for Fremantle Football Club, Fremantle for seven years. Early career Originally from Riddells Creek, Victoria, Sheridan attended Salesian College (Rupertswood), Salesian College and Essendon Keilor College and played junior football for the Calder Cannons in the TAC Cup. He showed his endurance at the AFL pre-draft testing, finishing in the top two percent of participants in the beep test and 3 km run. He represented Victoria Metro at the 2011 AFL Under 18 Championships and was named in the TAC Cup Team of the Year. He was drafted by Fremantle with their first selection, 16th overall, in the 2011 AFL Draft.
