Riccardo Moraschini
Riccardo Moraschini (born January 8, 1991) is an Italian professional basketball player for Reyer Venezia Mestre of the Italian Lega Basket Serie A (LBA) and the EuroCup. Standing at , he can play as a combo guard, as well as a small forward. Professional career After working his way through the youth ranks of Virtus Bologna he made his Serie A, and Euroleague, debut in 2007–2008, however he only started to play consistent minutes from 2009 to 2010. Struggling to break into a strong team, he was loaned to fellow Serie A side Angelico Biella for the second part of the 2010–11 season and then to Legadue side Sant'Antimo the following season in order to play more. After still not holding a starting place following these loans and the 2012–13 season he moved on to rival Acea Virtus Roma on a 1-year contract. Guard (basketball)
In the sport of basketball, there are five players play per team, each assigned to positions. Historically, these players have been assigned, to positions defined by the role they play on the court, from a strategic point of view. The three main positions are guard, forward, and center, with the standard team featuring two guards, two forwards, and a center. 2013–14 Lega Basket Serie A
The 2013–14 Lega Basket Serie A was the 92nd season of the Lega Basket Serie A. The regular season ran from October 13, 2013 to May 11, 2014 and consisted of 30 games. The top 8 teams made the play-offs, the lowest ranked team, Sutor Montegranaro, were relegated to Serie A2 Gold. 2013–14 Eurocup Basketball
The 2013–14 Eurocup Basketball season was the 12th edition of Europe's second-tier level transnational competition for men's professional basketball clubs, the EuroCup. The EuroCup is the European-wide league level that is one level below the EuroLeague. Valencia, the winner of this competition, earned a place at the group stage of the next season's EuroLeague. Valencia beat UNICS in two legs. It was the first time since the 2002–03 season, that the Finals were played over two games. Competition format changes The competition increases from 32 to 48 teams in the Regular Season phase. The size of the groups will grow to six teams, where the first three qualified teams will join the Last 32 stage. Another innovation this season will see clubs divided into two regional conferences for the Regular Season phase. Combo Guard
A combo guard is a basketball player who combines the attributes of a point guard (1) and shooting guard (2), but does not necessarily fit the standard description of either position. In men's basketball, such guards are usually within the 6' 3" (1.91 m) and 6' 5" (1.96 m) height range. Most combo guards tend to be between point and shooting guards in terms of height, although some possess the height of a point or shooting guard specifically which affects how each plays.
