Rica Takashima
is a prolific pop artist and manga artist who has had exhibitions and shows in museums and galleries in New York City and as well as across Japan. Art and career Rica Takashima was born in Shinjuku Tokyo, Japan and lived in Suginami-ward Tokyo. After graduating with a Design Degree from Tokyo University of the Arts, Takashima worked as a stage set artist and a freelance illustrator. In 1994, she founded and launched the avant-garde street art show troupe and studio Aozora Art with using Peekaboo-kun (顔出クンKaodashi-kun), a life-sized sculpture device consisting of a painted piece of board with a cut-out hole for the participants to stick their faces through, on Tokyo's Harajuku Pedestrian Street. Rica 'tte Kanji!?
is a Japanese ''yuri'' manga series written and illustrated by Rica Takashima. The series was first serialized in the Japanese manga magazine ''Phryne'' in 1995, and then moved to ''Anise'' in 1996. The manga was later licensed by ALC Publishing for release in English, with the first volume being released on June 19, 2003. Additional ''Rica 'tte Kanji!'' stories have been published in ALC Publishing's annual anthology ''Yuri Monogatari''. Rica Takashima has stated in interviews that one of the reasons she created ''Rica 'tte Kanji!?'' was to have a ''yuri'' manga that was happy and about everyday life, unlike most ''yuri'' of the time, which typically ended in tragedy or were in a sci-fi setting. Aomori Museum Of Art
The is a museum in Aomori, Japan, opened in July 2006. It is located near Sannai-Maruyama Site, which the museum's design takes inspiration from in its partially-buried structure. The museum houses more than 120 works from drawings to three-dimensional works by Yoshitomo Nara, a young artist from Aomori Prefecture. The museum is also active in having concerts, plays, and workshops.
