Metro International is a Swedish media company based in Luxembourg that publishes the freesheet newspaper ''Metro''. The company was founded by Per Andersson, and started as a subsidiary of the Modern Times Group along with Viasat Broadcasting. It is now controlled through the Mats Qviberg-owned-investment company Custos. AB Custos
AB Custos is a Sweden, Swedish investment company. In 2004, it came under the control of investors Mats Qviberg and Sven Hagströmer and was merged with their investment company Investment AB Öresund, before being subsequently demerged. The largest shareholder was the chairman, Jonas Wahlström. The firm was rebooted in 2008 and has since acquired several companies, including Metro International in 2017 and Realtid.se. History The Kreuger crash of 1932 resulted in several banks experiencing serious liquidity problems. This led to a change in legislation whereby the Swedish commercial banks lost their right to acquire shares from the turn of the year 1933/1934. ''24 Hours'' (), is a group of English-language and French-language free daily newspapers published in Canada. It was published in French in Montreal and Gatineau, and in English in Calgary, Edmonton, Ottawa, Toronto, and Vancouver. The Gatineau edition was discontinued in 2008 and the Calgary, Edmonton, and Ottawa editions ceased publication in 2013. The Toronto and Vancouver editions were sold to Postmedia Network as part of Quebecor's divestment of English-language news, and they were later acquired by Torstar in an asset swap on November 27, 2017 and immediately shut down in favour of the Torstar-owned '' Metro'' papers in those cities (rebranded ''StarMetro'' the following year).
