Hwaebul Sports Club
Hwaebul Sports Club is an association football club from Pochon, North Korea, founded in 2013. It is the sports club of the Kimilsungist-Kimjongilist Youth League and is based at the 5,000 capacity Hwaebul Stadium. They are presently playing in the DPR Korea Premier Football League. History The team was given its name by Kim Jong-un when it was founded, in the hopes that the club would be a guiding light for football in North Korea, as "Hwaebul" means "torch" in Korean. Rimyŏngsu Sports Club () is a North Korean football club, based in Sariwŏn. Despite never winning the DPR Korea League, Rimyŏngsu supplied four players to the 2005 FIFA U-17 World Championship and five players to the 2007 FIFA U-20 World Cup, more than any other North Korean club. The AFC President's Cup was an annual international association football competition between domestic clubs sides run by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) held between 2005 and 2014. The competition targeted emerging football nations, and was set below the AFC Champions League and AFC Cup competitions. Competition format Between 8 and 12 teams participated in each edition of the competition. From 2005 to 2007, 8 clubs were placed into two groups of 4 teams. The winners and runners up would advance to the semi-final stage. All the matches were held in a single host country. From 2008 to 2010, the tournament was increased to 11 clubs. 2014 AFC President's Cup
The 2014 AFC President's Cup was the tenth and the last edition of the AFC President's Cup, a football competition organized by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) for clubs from "emerging countries" in Asia. Balkan were the defending champions, but failed to qualify for the tournament. On 25 November 2013, the AFC Competitions Committee proposed that the 2014 AFC President's Cup to be the last edition of the competition. Starting from 2015, league champions of "emerging countries" are eligible to participate in the AFC Cup qualifying play-off.
