Hwaebul Sports Club
Hwaebul Sports Club is a professional football club from Pochon, North Korea, founded in 2013. It is the sports club of the Kimilsungist-Kimjongilist Youth League and is based at the 5,000 capacity Hwaebul Stadium. The club plays in the DPR Korea Premier Football League. History The team was given its name by Kim Jong-un when it was founded, in the hopes that the club would be a guiding light for football in North Korea, as "Hwaebul" means "torch" in Korean. Despite its newness, the club has already achieved considerable success, finishing third in their inaugural season, winning the Highest Class Football League in the second season, along with securing several wins in the Paektusan Prize, the Poch'ŏnbo Torch Prize, and other competitions. 2018 AFC Cup Qualifying Play-offs
The 2018 AFC Cup qualifying play-offs were played from 22 January to 20 February 2018. A total of 13 teams competed in the qualifying play-offs to decide five of the 36 places in the group stage of the 2018 AFC Cup. Teams The following 13 teams, split into five zones (West Asia Zone, Central Asia Zone, South Asia Zone, ASEAN Zone, East Asia Zone), entered the qualifying play-offs, consisting of two rounds: *6 teams entered in the preliminary round. *7 teams entered in the play-off round. Format In the qualifying play-offs, each tie was played on a home-and-away two-legged basis. The away goals rule, extra time (away goals do not apply in extra time) and penalty shoot-out were used to decide the winner if necessary (Regulations Article 9.3). The 2016 Hwaebul Cup was the fourth edition of the Hwaebul Cup (홰불, ''Torch'') football competition celebrating North Korea's Youth Day. The competition was held between 27 July and 28 August 2016, with all matches played at the Sosan Stadium, Sŏsan Stadium in Pyongyang, P'yŏngyang. The competition was arranged in two phases. The 2014 Hwaebul Cup was the second edition of the Hwaebul Cup (홰불, ''Torch'') celebrating North Korea's Youth Day. The AFC Champions League Two (abbreviated as the ACL Two or ACL2) is an annual continental club football competition organised by the Asian Football Confederation. The 2018 AFC Cup knockout stage was played from 7 May to 27 October 2018. A total of 11 teams competed in the knockout stage to decide the champions of the 2018 AFC Cup.
