Rendum Rendum Anju
''Rendum Rendum Anju'' () is a 1988 Indian Tamil-language psychological thriller film directed and co-written by Jayabharathi. The film stars Sarath Babu and Ambika, with Chandrasekhar, Nassar, Vennira Aadai Moorthy, Senthil and Leo Prabhu in supporting roles. It was released on 3 June 1988. Plot Shanthi is a superstitious woman, but her husband Balu is not. Shanthi later believes an astrologer's prediction of Balu's death. Cast Production ''Rendum Rendum Anju'' was made "on the lines of" Alfred Hitchcock's film ''Vertigo'' (1958). Jayabharathi revealed he initially approached Vijayakanth for the film "but I did not get a positive response from him", he later made the film comprising with the star cast such as Sarath Babu, Ambika, Nassar and Moorthy and completed the filming within 50 days. Jayabharathi (director)
Jayabharathi (1946 or 1947 – 6 December 2024) was an Indian film director and screenwriter who worked on Tamil films. Regarded as one of the pioneers of alternate cinema in the Tamil film industry, Jayabharathi directed nine films across five decades. Life and career As a film student in the 1970s, Jayabharathi explored the idea of making films in an alternate genre in Tamil cinema and became one of the pioneers of the movement. His first film '' Kudisai'' (1979) was released after he undertook a crowd-funding route in order to raise Rs90,000 to distribute the film for screening, and in order to generate investment, he sold donation tickets and conducted programmes at government colleges. The film won critical acclaim upon release and has since been preserved at the National Film Archives. Thirupparaithurai Srinivasan Rangarajan, professionally credited by his pseudonym Vaali (29October 193118July 2013) was an Indian poet who has the record for writing the most songs in Tamil cinema. He is also recognised for a five-decade long association in the Tamil film industry and has written over 15,000 songs. He acted in a number of films, including '' Sathya'', '' Hey Ram'', '' Paarthale Paravasam'' and '' Poikkal Kudhirai''. ''Kalki'' is a Tamil-language weekly magazine published from Chennai, India. The magazine was established by Kalki Krishnamurthy, a popular Tamil novelist and Indian freedom fighter, in 1941. T Sadasivam was the magazine's co-founder. The magazine is known for its publication of historic novels such as '' Ponniyin Selvan'' and '' Sivagamiyin Sabadham''. Singer Semmangudi Srinivasa Iyer, guru of M S Subbulakshmi, and music critic S V Seshadri were also involved with the magazine in its coverage of music. Kalki Krishnamurthy also edited the magazine, which is published on a weekly basis. During his term the magazine was much more respected due to its quality. Subha (writers)
Subha is the name used by the writing partnership of D. Suresh and A. N. Balakrishnan, who write stories, detective novels and screenplays in Tamil. Work The duo began co-authoring stories when they were in college together, and have been publishing their work since 1979. They have published more than 450 short novels and more than 400 short stories. Most of their detective novels feature the characters Narendran and Vaijayanthi of Eagle Eye Detective Agency, and their coworker John Sundar. Other characters created by Subha are Selva and Murugesan, who also feature in their detective stories, and John Sembaruthi, who is a character in some of Subha's novels set in the army.
