Renato Serio (5 October 1946 – 4 November 2024) was an Italian composer, conductor, and arranger. Life and career Born in Lucca, Serio studied piano, conducting, composition and electronic music. He started his career in the 1960s collaborating with artists such as Shirley Bassey and Nini Rosso. His collaborations included ones with B.B. King, Dionne Warwick, Tom Jones, Bryan Adams, John Denver, Adriano Celentano, The Corrs, The Manhattan Transfer, Andrea Bocelli, Sarah Brightman, Lucio Dalla, Randy Crawford, Laura Pausini, Miriam Makeba, Riccardo Cocciante, Renato Zero, Anggun, Gianni Morandi, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Gino Vannelli, Antonello Venditti, Angelo Branduardi, Mia Martini, Jennifer Paige, and Amedeo Minghi. Riccardo Cocciante (; born 20 February 1946), also known in French-speaking countries and the United States as Richard Cocciante (), is an Italian and French singer and songwriter. Pietro Garinei
Pietro Garinei (1 February 1919 – 9 May 2006) was an Italian playwright, actor, and songwriter. Brother of Enzo Garinei. Biography Garinei was born in Trieste in 1919. He later worked as a sports journalist for the daily newspaper in Milan and Rome, where he met Sandro Giovannini. The two discovered a shared interest in music and entertainment, and left the paper shortly after to found a satiric newspaper. In September 1944 they established a musical theater, Cantachiaro, which was named after a weekly satirical magazine they had contributed to. The first star of their theater was Anna Magnani. Following the end of World War II, Garinei and Giovannini collaborated with the Radio RAI. In 1949 they started working as playwrights, and in 1952 they wrote one of Italy's first musical comedy, ''Attanasio cavallo vanesio'', featuring Renato Rascel. Life and career Born in Rome, Minghi started his career in the mid-1960s participating in a large number of musical contests, and then making his professional debut in 1966 with the single "Alla fine", with lyrics by Mogol. Angelo Branduardi (born 12 February 1950) is an Italian folk music, folk/folk rock singer-songwriter and composer who scored relative success in Italy and European countries such as France, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands and Greece. Antonio "Antonello" Venditti (born 8 March 1949) is an Italian singer-songwriter and pianist who became popular in the 1970s for the social themes addressed in his songs. Biography Antonello Venditti was born in Rome, the son of Vincenzino Italo Venditti from Campolieto, in Molise, who at the time was deputy-prefect in Rome, and Wanda Sicardi.
