Blank & Jones are a German electronic music group, consisting of Jan Pieter Blank (born June 15, 1971), known as Piet Blank; René Runge (born June 27, 1968), better known as DJ Jaspa Jones; and the producer Andy Kaufhold (N*D*K) (born December 17, 1969). ''So80s presents Alphaville'' is a compilation album for the band Alphaville, released in October 2014. The release includes all of their original 12-inch 1980's maxi-singles and their respective B-sides, many for the first time on CD in their original form. Background This 2-CD collection includes all original 1980's 12" singles starting with " Big in Japan" (1984) through "Mysteries of Love" (1989). Also included are the original B-sides and select alternate mixes, including original instrumental and dub mixes. One original mix (Torsten Fenslau's remix of "Big in Japan") is also included. The tracks were remastered from the original master tapes, and initial copies were signed by the band. Kajagoogoo ( ) were an English Pop music, pop band. They are best known for their 1983 hit single "Too Shy", which reached No. 1 on the UK Singles Chart, and the top 10 in numerous other countries. They were released on CD and some in digital formats from 2009 to 2019 and included 24 albums. Background Frustrated with finding '80s 12" mixes on CDs, Black and Jones set out on a mission to release '80s 12" compilations of their favourite tunes. ''Stay in Touch'' is the tenth studio album by German singer Sandra, released on 26 October 2012 by Virgin Records. Background The album was produced by a German DJ duo Blank & Jones and most of the songs were written or co-written by Jens Gad. The material incorporated 1980s style into songs, reproducing the sound pattern of Sandra's early albums, with the track "Kings & Queens" sampling her 1985 song "(I'll Never Be) Maria Magdalena". It was also the first album since 1988's ''Into a Secret Land'' to feature Hubert Kemmler as a songwriter and background vocalist. "Maybe Tonight" was released as the first single in May 2012 and charted at number 77 in Germany. Mark Reeder (born 5 January 1958) is a British musician and record producer. He grew up in Manchester, England. At a young age, Reeder became interested in progressive rock and especially early electronic music. In his teens, he worked in a small Virgin Records store in Manchester city centre. Reeder has been living and working in Berlin since 1978. He is the founder and owner of the German electronic dance music labels MFS and Flesh. In 1991, Reeder discovered the teenage Paul van Dyk, guiding and paving his way to build up his now international DJ superstardom. Bernard Sumner
Bernard Sumner (born 4 January 1956) is an English musician. He is a founding member of the bands Joy Division, New Order, Electronic, and Bad Lieutenant. Sumner was an early force in several areas, including the post-punk, synth-pop, and techno music scenes, as well as their various related genres, and was an early influence on the Manchester music scene that presaged the Madchester movement of the late 1980s centred on Factory Records and The Haçienda club in Manchester. Chill-out Music
Chill-out (shortened as chill; also typeset as chillout or chill out) is a loosely defined form of popular music characterized by slow tempos and relaxed moods. The definition of "chill-out music" has evolved throughout the decades, and generally refers to anything that might be identified as a modern type of easy listening. The term "chill-out music" – originally conflated with "ambient house" – came from an area called "The White Room" at the Heaven nightclub in London in 1989. There, DJs played ambient mixes from sources such as Brian Eno and Pink Floyd to allow dancers a place to "chill out" from the faster-paced music of the main dance floor.
