''Regine'' is the debut studio album by Filipino singer-actress Regine Velasquez, released in the Philippines in 1987, by Viva Records on LP and cassette and later re-released in 1994 on CD format and on January 6, 2002 as a digital download. The album was produced by Ronnie Henares, her then-manager. The album is distributed in the Philippines by Ivory Records and is composed of original Filipino compositions by Christine Bendebel, Vehnee Saturno and 1980s singer-composer Keno among others, except for "Ebb Tide" originally by Frank Chacksfield and His Orchestra, composed by Robert Maxwell and Carl Sigman. The carrier single was "Kung Maibabalik Ko Lang" together with "Maybe Now, Maybe Then". Background ''Regine'' is Velasquez's first full studio album released after winning champion at RPN 9's '' Ang Bagong Kampeon'' singing competition. Although she recorded a song before the album titled "Love Me Again" released through OctoArts, but with her name "Chona Velasquez". ...

Regina Encarnacion "Regine" Ansong Velasquez-Alcasid ( ; born April 22, 1970) is a Filipino singer and actress. She is considered one of the most influential figures in Philippine popular culture and is known for her vocal range and belting technique. She had unorthodox voice training during her childhood, where she was immersed neck-deep in the sea. Velasquez rose to prominence after winning the television talent show '' Ang Bagong Kampeon'' in 1984 and the Asia Pacific Singing Contest in 1989. Joaquin Francisco Sanchez (born June 16, 1962), more commonly known as Keno, is a Filipino writer and former singer and actor. He was popular from the late 1980s until 1991. As a singer, he popularized songs such as "A Friend", "Leaving Yesterday Behind", "On Wings of a Dream", "Want You to Cry Too", "Why Do I Love You", and "Wish". As an actor, Keno was in the cast of a teen-oriented action film, ''Ninja Kids'', playing the Yellow Ninja, in 1986. As an author, he published ''The Last Castrato'' in 2005, with I.M. Vicente del Rosario Jr. (born October 26, 1945) is a Filipino businessman who co-founded the music publishing company Vicor Music in 1966 and the entertainment company Viva Communications in 1981. Career Vicor Music Del Rosario co-founded Vicor Music Corporation with his cousin Orlando "Orly" Ilacad along Raon Street (now Gonzalo Puyat Street) in Quiapo, Manila in 1966, which was later incorporated in 1969; the company president and general manager were del Rosario and Ilacad respectively. Carl Sigman
Carl Sigman (September 24, 1909 – September 26, 2000) was an American songwriter. Early life Born in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, New York, to a Jewish-American family, Sigman graduated from law school and passed his bar exams to practice in the state of New York. Instead of law, encouraged by his friend Johnny Mercer, he embarked on a songwriting career, that saw him become one of the most prominent and successful songwriters in American music history.
