''Refused Are Fucking Dead'' is a 2006 documentary about the Swedish hardcore punk band Refused and the then-last year of their career. The film was directed by the band's guitarist, Kristofer Steen. It includes live performances of "Life Support Addiction", "Circlepit", "New Noise", and "Rather Be Dead." The DVD includes two of Refused's music videos ("Rather Be Dead" and "New Noise") as well as live performances of all the songs on ''The Shape of Punk to Come'' (save for "The Apollo Programme Was a Hoax" and "Protest Song '68") as bonus features. The film shares its name with one of the band's songs on ''The Shape of Punk to Come'' and is a reference to a song titled "Born Against Are Fucking Dead" by the New York hardcore band Born Against. Kristofer Steen
Kristofer Steen (born June 26, 1974) is a Swedish musician, who was the guitarist for hardcore punk band Refused. He directed '' Refused Are Fucking Dead'', a 2006 documentary charting the demise of Refused in 1998. After Refused's demise, Steen formed a band called TEXT with fellow Refused guitarist Jon Brännström and Refused drummer David Sandström, as well as embarking upon his own projects. Steen was also involved in the bands Brain Squashed Puppies, Abhinanda and Final Exit. Refused reunited to perform at Coachella 2012. Sven Olov Dennis Lyxzén (born June 19, 1972) is a Swedish singer, best known as the lead vocalist for the influential hardcore punk band Refused, as well as the bands INVSN and Fake Names. He is also a former member of bands including AC4, Step Forward, Final Exit, and The (International) Noise Conspiracy, and co-founded the record labels Ny Våg and Desperate Fight Records. David Sandström
David Sandström (born 2 January 1975) is a Swedish musician best known as the drummer for the hardcore punk group Refused. After Refused first broke up in 1998, he and the other members worked on a project entitled TEXT and released one album. Later, he went on to do solo work. Born Against was an American hardcore punk band from New York active between 1989 and 1993. Though Born Against received little media exposure while still together, they have since been described as "legendary" by the ''Chicago Reader'' and the ''LA Weekly''. History The group was founded in early 1989 by guitarist Adam Nathanson, bassist Neil Burke, vocalist Sam McPheeters, and drummer John Guzman, who was replaced in early rehearsals by a drummer named George.
