Dennis Lyxzén
Sven Olov Dennis Lyxzén (born June 19, 1972) is a Swedish singer and songwriter, best known as the lead vocalist for influential Swedish hardcore punk band Refused, as well as the bands INVSN and Fake Names. He is also a former member of bands including AC4, Step Forward, Final Exit, and The (International) Noise Conspiracy, and co-founded the Swedish record labels Ny Våg and Desperate Fight Records. Career Refused Following a stint in the short-lived hardcore band Step Forward, Lyxzén formed Refused in 1991 with drummer David Sandström, guitarist Pär Hansson, and bassist Jonas Lindgren. They released three studio albums, ''This Just Might Be... the Truth'' (1994), ''Songs to Fan the Flames of Discontent'' (1996), and ''The Shape of Punk to Come'' (1998), the latter of which was heavily influential on later bands but a commercial and critical failure upon release, and the group disbanded that same year. ''Final Exit'' (fully titled ''Final Exit: The Practicalities of Self-Deliverance and Assisted Suicide for the Dying'') is a 1991 book written by Derek Humphry, a British-born American journalist, author, and assisted suicide advocate who co-founded the now-defunct Hemlock Society in 1980 and co-founded the Final Exit Network in 2004. The book was first published in 1991 by the Hemlock Society US in hardback. The following year, its 2nd edition was published by Dell in trade paperback. Coachella Valley Music And Arts Festival
The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival (commonly called the Coachella Festival or simply Coachella) is an annual music and arts festival held at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, in the Coachella Valley in the Colorado Desert. It was co-founded by Paul Tollett and Rick Van Santen in 1999, and is organized by Goldenvoice, a subsidiary of AEG Presents. Refused Reunion Tour
The Reunion Tour is a concert tour by Swedish post-hardcore band Refused, celebrating the band's reunion, after breaking-up in 1998. The tour began with a secret warm-up shows in the band's hometown of Umeå on 29 February 2012, as well as another small show in Stockholm, on 30 March, after which the band headed to start the official tour, in the United States. The tour was not intended to be a full reunion and the band announced their show at the Exel Arena in Umeå, Sweden on 15 December would be their final show for three years. Background BBC Radio 1's "Punk Show" announced on 2 January 2012, that Refused would be reuniting this year for a series of show. A remastered version of the album was released in 2004. The album is the band's first where Dennis Lyxzén uses screamed vocals as opposed to the shouting vocals he used on the debut '' This Just Might Be... the Truth'' and features several metal influences. David Sandström
David Sandström (born 2 January 1975) is the drummer for hardcore punk group Refused. After Refused broke up, Sandström and the other members of Refused worked on a project entitled TEXT and released one album. Then David went on to do solo work. In 2008 he formed the hardcore punk band AC4 with Refused frontman Dennis Lyxzén, playing bass guitar. Sandström states that before Refused formed he was a "glue-sniffing death metal kid" but eventually a fan of Step Forward, the embryo of Refused. As Step Forward called it quits and the friendship between Sandström and Dennis Lyxzén grew stronger, Lyxzén took him home and made him listen to Youth of Today's ''We're Not in This Alone'' album over and over again in a room alone. Final Exit (band)
Final Exit was a Swedish straight edge hardcore band which originating from Umeå, formed in 1994. The band was a side project made up by the members of Refused and Abhinanda and was active from 1994 to 1997. History Final Exit formed in 1994 by Dennis Lyxzén (D-Rp), David Sandström (Dave Exit), Pär Hansson (SXE Guile) and Kristoffer Steen (Kid Stone). Unlike most of the band in Umeå at the time Final Exit played a more old-school hardcore influenced by band such as Sick of it All, Youth of Today and Agnostic Front instead of the more metal influenced hardcore sound of the nineties. Final Exit quickly gained a reputation as the members of the band worked on creating a myth about themselves and the Umeå hardcore scene with acts such as naming their first album "Teg" which portrayed the upperclass suburb of Teg as a rough ghetto. INVSN
INVSN (pronounced "Invasion") is a Swedish post-punk band from Umeå. Originally formed as The Lost Party as a solo project for Dennis Lyxzén, already know for the punk bands Refused and The (International) Noise Conspiracy, the project's early music was notably more folkish and softer than his prior music endeavors. The members have all played in influential punk and rock bands from Sweden. Sara Almgren used to be in the first Swedish all-female straight-edge band The Doughnuts. She later played keyboard and guitar in The (International) Noise Conspiracy, played in bands like The Vicious and Masshysteri, and toured with Marit Bergman and Sahara Hotnights. Dennis Lyxzen is most known for being the lead vocalist in Refused but has also played in bands like The (International) Noise Conspiracy, AC4 and many more.
