Reformist Base
Reformist Base (, BR) is a liberal-democratic, centrist and Christian left faction within the Democratic Party (PD), a political party in Italy. Its leaders are Luca Lotti and Lorenzo Guerini, close advisors of Matteo Renzi, party's former national secretary and former Prime Minister of Italy from February 2014 to December 2016. It is one of the main faction within PD's parliamentary groups. On 17 September, during an interview to Italian newspaper ''la Repubblica'', Renzi announced his intention to leave the PD, and create new parliamentary groups led by himself. Luca Lotti
Luca Lotti (born 20 June 1982) is an Italian politician who served as the Minister for Sport from 2016 to 2018 in the Gentiloni Cabinet. Biography Born in Empoli, Lotti graduated in Administration Sciences at the Cesare Alfieri Institute in Florence with a thesis on "e-government on relations between public administration and citizens". He was member of Azione Cattolica, he played soccer in Eccellenza and he was also a coach of a soccer team of children. In 2004 and 2009 Lotti was elected municipal councillor in Montelupo Fiorentino. In 2006, he joined the staff of Matteo Renzi, at the time President of the Province of Florence. Bruno Paolo Vespa (born 27 May 1944) is an Italian television and newspaper journalist. A former director of the Italian state-owned TV channel Rai 1's news programme '' TG1'', Vespa is the founding host of the programme ''Porta a Porta'' (English: "Door to door"), which has been broadcast without interruption on RAI channels since 1996. Lorenzo Guerini (born 21 November 1966) is an Italian politician and member of the Democratic Party (PD). Guerini has been serving as the Italian Minister of Defence in the cabinets of successive prime ministers Giuseppe Conte and Mario Draghi from 2019 to 2022. In March 2014, he was chosen by party leader Matteo Renzi to be deputy secretary of the PD along with Debora Serracchiani, a position that he held until May 2017.
