Recuay District

Its capital is the town of Recuay in the Callejón de Huaylas Valley. Recuay culture The Recuay culture was a highland culture of Peru that flourished in 200 BC-600 AD and was related to the Moche culture of the north coast. It is named after the Recuay area. The Recuay area is very close to the earlier Chavin culture centre of Chavin de Huantar that lies just to the west. Thus, the Recuay originally occupied much of the territory of the Chavin, and were greatly influenced by them. The culture especially flourished in the Callejón de Huaylas region, and along the Marañón River. It also spread to the valleys of the Santa, Casma and Huarmey rivers. Districts Of Peru
The districts of Peru () are the third-level country subdivisions of Peru. They are subdivisions of the provinces, which in turn are subdivisions of the larger regions or departments. There are 1,838 districts in total. Overview A 1982 law requires a minimum of residents in an area for a new district to be legally established: 3,500 if it is located in the rainforest, 4,000 in the Andes highlands and 10,000 in the coastal area. In the dry Andean area, many districts have less than 3,500 inhabitants due to low population density in the area. In some cases, their populations have decreased in comparison to the days when they were founded. Districts that are located at very high altitudes tend to be scarcely populated. Moche Culture
The Moche civilization (; alternatively, the Mochica culture or the Early, Pre- or Proto- Chimú) flourished in northern Peru with its capital near present-day Moche, Trujillo, Peru from about 100 to 700 AD during the Regional Development Epoch. Callejón De Huaylas
The Santa Valley ( Quechua ''Sancta'') is an inter-andean valley in the Ancash Region in the north-central highlands of Peru. Due to its location between two mountain ranges, it is known as Callejón de Huaylas, the Alley of Huaylas, whereas "Huaylas" refers to the territorial division's name during the Viceroyalty of Peru. Going north from Lima, the road climbs to an altitude of 3,945 m, where the lake Conococha marks the head of the valley. This lake is the main source of Santa River. From here the road descends into the Callejón de Huaylas, demarcated by the Cordillera Blanca ("white range") to the east and the Cordillera Negra ("black range") to the west. The Instituto Nacional de Estadística e Informática (INEI) ("National Institute of Statistics and Informatics") is a semi-autonomous Peruvian government agency which coordinates, compiles, and evaluates statistical information for the country. Its current director is Renán Quispe Llanos. As stated on its website, the INEI eases decision-making with the help of quality statistical information and the use of information technology and thus helps develop the society. Censuses The latest census performed by the INEI is the 2017 Census, which was conducted from August 22 through November 5 of that year.
