Iris was an American synthpop band, formed by Reagan Jones and Mat Morris in 1993. After the release of their first album '' Disconnect'', Matthew Morris was replaced with Andrew Sega, who pushed the band's sound in a more experimental electronic direction. Their final album, ''Six,'' was released in September 2019. Iris disbanded in 2021. History The band was initiated in 1993 as Forgiving Iris, with members Reagan Jones (vocals/ keyboards), Matt Morris (keyboards/programming).Irisat Allmusic The two had met in college and, influenced by artists such as Erasure and Depeche Mode, began playing covers locally in Austin, Texas. Reconnect (song)
"Reconnect" was the debut single of Irish art rock quartet, Director. It was released on 24 April 2006, eventually dominating the Irish airwaves throughout the summer and receiving much radio play from Irish radio stations such as RTÉ 2fm and Today FM. The single charted in Ireland at number ten, spending a total of twelve weeks in the Irish Singles Chart. National broadcaster, RTÉ, noted the song alongside third single "Leave It to Me" as one of the better tracks on the album, '' We Thrive on Big Cities''. In 2009, the ''Irish Independent'' referred to the song as "a debut single of exceptional potency", saying that its release had prompted excitement in "even those not normally given to hyperbole". "Reconnect" was credited by some with helping Director win Best New Irish Act at the 2007 Meteor Awards. Destrophy is an American alternative metal band from Des Moines, Iowa, formed in 1992 by singer, songwriter, guitarist, and producer Ari (Aristotle Mihalopoulos). Paris Forscutt, known by her stage name PARIS, and formerly Made in Paris, is an Australian musician, DJ, and music producer. Career Paris Forscutt was born in Pambula, New South Wales, and began producing music in 2012. Her first single ''The Taker'' was released on the Birmingham based record label Bloc Beatz Records in 2013. After releasing several EPs and one album as Made in Paris, in June 2022 she announced her stage name would now be PARIS. After her music gained popularity, Paris moved to Sydney where she is now based, and where she runs her record label Upon Access. Project Chanology (also called Operation Chanology) was a protest movement against the practices of the Church of Scientology by members of Anonymous (group), Anonymous, a leaderless Internet-based group. "Chanology" is a portmanteau of "4chan" (the site where the project originated) and "Scientology". The project was started in response to the Church of Scientology's attempts to remove material from a highly publicized interview with Scientology, Scientologist Tom Cruise from the Internet in January 2008.
