Ranmuiy
''Ranmuiy'' () is a 2001 Maldivian drama film directed by Abdulla Sujau and Abdul Faththaah. Produced by Abdul Muhaimin, the film stars Ismail Wajeeh and Aishath Ibrahim in pivotal roles. The film was heavily marketed for its item song titled "Bahdhaluvumun Vejje Dheewana" featuring Indian actress Rajeshwari which was initially planned with Bollywood actress Juhi Chawla but had to cut short after she sprained her ankle while trying to board a speedboat. Premise The film is centered on the dispute between a daughter and her step-mother. Waheed (Ismail Wajeeh) a simple widower goes to an island and is instantly attracted to Shakeela (Aishath Ibrahim) a middle-class ill-mannered young woman. Abdul Faththaah
Abdul Faththaah Abdul Gayyoom (born 6 December 1971), commonly known as Abdul Faththaah is a Maldivian film director, producer, editor, screenwriter and choreographer. One of the most successful filmmakers in Maldivian Cinema, Faththaah is the recipient of a number of awards, including four Gaumee Film Awards, and two Maldives Film Awards. In 2004, Government of Maldives honoured him with the National Award of Recognition. He is known for his romantically stylish film-making. Ismail Wajeeh
Ismail Wajeeh (20 September 1962) is a Maldivian actor and choreographer. Early life While studying in primary school, Wajeeh, along with his nephews used to perform songs and stage shows to small gatherings. While studying in grade 4, he was offered to be part of an English radio drama produced by the Voice of Maldives, titled "The Enormous Turnip". During his secondary education, he played small roles in stage dramas as an extra. In 1982, he got offered by the leading theatre performing group, Cultural and Drama Society (CDS) to be part of their group. Aminath Rasheedha (born 27 February 1967) is a Maldivian actress and director. Career 1993–2006: Early releases and directorial debut In 1995, Rasheedha appeared in Mohamed Shiyaz's ''Dhushman'' which features Hussain Sobah, Mariyam Nisha and Hamid Ali in pivotal roles. Rafiyath Rameeza (23 March 1976) is a Maldivian singer. Early life Rafiyath Rameeza was born and raised in the "Rameez family" where several artists including Ali Rameez and Ibrahim Rameez were brought up and "ruled" the music industry. At the age of 12, while studying at Aminiya School, she competed in the Television Maldives Interschool Singing Competition and continued to participate in the same competition for more years. Ibrahim Amir (born 9 December 1967) is a Maldivian singer. Early life and career Ibrahim Amir was born and raised in the "Amir family" where several artists including Ahmed Amir and Fazeela Amir were brought up and "ruled" the local music industry. His talent was first recognized with the album ''Hiyy Fahi'' (1993) followed by several other duets with his sister Fazeela Amir. Fazeela Amir (16 December 1969) is a Maldivian singer. Early life Fazeela Amir was born and raised in the "Amir family" where several artists including Ahmed Amir and Ibrahim Amir were brought up and "ruled" the music industry. She made her career debut with the album ''Hiyy Fahi'' where she lent her voice for eleven songs in the album. Umar Zahir (22 November 1963) is a Maldivian singer. Early life and career Zahir began his career as a musician by joining several music bands in performing at resorts and events. It was then his talent was identified by music composers and producers, where he was offered to lend his voice for several of their compositions. Mariyam Shakeela is a Maldivian film actress. Career 1992–2007: Early releases After completing her education in MCS and EPS, Shakeela married to comedian Yoosuf Rafeeu who was then a producer and news presenter at Television Maldives. Ahmed Amir
Ahmed Amir (born 18 February 1972) is a Maldivian singer and music composer. Early life and career Ahmed Amir was born and raised in the "Amir family" which also includes Ibrahim Amir and Fazeela Amir. Ahmed Amir’s very first appearance in as a music artist was at the age of 11 years, in 1983. He performed as a member of the ‘Pluto Band’ as a vocalist and guitarist. Together with Ahmed Amir, the now well known Maldivian singer Abdul Sameeu had also performed as a member of this Pluto Band. In 1993, Amir formed "Maars Studio", which contributed to the music industry in programming music tracks, composing original music and in recording songs.
