Rangpur District () is a district in northern Bengal, It is a part of Rangpur Division, Bangladesh. Geography Under the Rangpur Division (one of eight divisions) composed of eight districts of northern Bangladesh, the District of Rangpur is bordered on the north by Nilphamari District, on the south by Gaibandha District, on the east by Kurigram, and on the west by Dinajpur district. Rangpur town is the divisional headquarter. The soil composition is mainly alluvial soil (80%) of the Teesta River basin, and the remaining is barind soil. Mirza Raja Man Singh I (21 December 1550 – 6 July 1614) was the 24th Raja, Kachawaha Rajput ruler of the Kingdom of Amber from 1589 to 1614. He also served as the foremost imperial Subahdar of Bihar Subah from 1587 to 1594, then for Bengal Subah for three terms from 1595 to 1606 and the Subahdar of Kabul Subah from 1585 to 1586. Kamalapur Railway Station, officially Dhaka Railway Station, is the central railway station in Kamalapur, Dhaka, capital of Bangladesh. It is the largest station and the busiest infrastructure for transportation in the country that acts as a gateway of the country's capital. It was opened on 1 May 1968. It was built during the Pakistan period but its railway line was built during the British period. Saidpur Airport () is a domestic airport located in Saidpur, Nilphamari District, Rangpur Division, Bangladesh. The airport is operated by the Civil Aviation Authority, Bangladesh. Biman Bangladesh Airlines, Novoair, Air Astra and US-Bangla Airlines operate flights to Dhaka, Chittagong and Cox’s Bazar. Saidpur is a city of Nilphamari district in Rangpur division, and Saidpur Airport is one of the northernmost airports in the country.
