Ramat Hovav (), new official name Ne'ot Hovav (), is an industrial zone in southern Israel and the site of Israel's main hazardous waste disposal facility. Ramat Hovav Industrial Zone is the locus of 19 chemical factories, including Makhteshim Agan, a pesticide plant; Teva Pharmaceutical Industries, a pharmaceuticals plant; Israel Chemicals, a bromine plant. Highway 6 (, ''Kvish Shesh''), also known as the Trans-Israel Highway or Cross-Israel Highway (, ''Kvish Ḥotzeh Yisra'el''), is a major electronic toll highway in Israel. Highway 40 () is a north-south intercity road in Israel. At 302 km long, it is the second longest highway in Israel, after Highway 90 (Israel–Palestine), Highway 90. The highway runs from Kfar Saba in the center of Israel to the Arabah in the south, serving as a main connection between central Israel and Be'er Sheva. Route description The highway starts at an intersection with Highway 90 near Ketura, Israel, Ketura, about 50 km north of Eilat as a two-lane undivided road. Alon Tal (; born 12 July 1960) is an Israeli politician, academic and environmentalist. He was a member of the 24th Knesset between 2021 and 2022, representing the Blue and White political party; founder of the Israel Union for Environmental Defense and the Arava Institute for Environmental Studies; and co-founder of Ecopeace: Friends of the Earth–Middle East, This Is My Earth, the Israel Forum for Demography, Environment and Society, Aytzim: Ecological Judaism, and the Green Movement.
