Klas Eriksson (born 30 July 1971) is a Swedish professional golfer. Eriksson was born in Växjö and turned professional in 1991 having won the European Amateur and the French Amateur Stoke Play Championship the previous year. He finished 45th on the Order of Merit in his rookie season, but injuries and putting problems meant he failed to retain his card at the end of the 1998 season and he was back on the Challenge Tour in 1999. The 1989 European Amateur Team Championship took place 28 June – 2 July at Royal Porthcawl Golf Club, Wales, United Kingdom. It was the 16th men's golf European Amateur Team Championship. Venue The hosting club was founded in 1891. In 1895, the course, designed by Ramsey Hunter, was located close to Pink Bay Beach on the Glamorgan Coast between Cardiff and Swansea in Wales. It had previously hosted The Amateur Championship on five occasions, including in 1988. On the first day of the tournament, there were strong winds and rain on the course, set up with par 72 over 6,643 yards. The European Amateur Team Championship is a European amateur team golf championship for men organised by the European Golf Association which was introduced in 1959. The championship was played in odd-numbered years from 1959 to 2007 and has been played annually since 2008 (with the exception of 2012). The Jacques Léglise Trophy is an annual amateur boys' team golf competition between Great Britain & Ireland and the Continent of Europe. It was first played in 1977, as a one-day match before the Boys Amateur Championship, but since 1996 it has been played as a separate two-day match. Sven Olof Fredrik Söderström (born 30 January 1973) is a Swedish retired footballer who played as a midfielder. Club career Born in Ludvika, Söderström started his professional career with lowly IK Brage. In January 1997 he moved to Vitória de Guimarães in Portugal, where his stellar performances attracted the attention of fellow Primeira Liga club FC Porto. Söderström played 24 matches in his first season, but went on to serve consecutive loans for the remainder of his contract, mainly in that nation, as the northerners achieved consecutive European competition accolades.
