Rafel Nadal (born 1954, Girona) is a Spanish journalist and writer. He has published ''Els Mandarins'' (Columna, 2011); ''Quan érem feliços'' (Destino, 2012); ''Quan en dèiem xampany'' (Columna, 2013); ''La Maledicció dels Palmisano'' (Columna, 2015), a bestseller published in 22 languages; and ''La senyora Stendhal'' (Columna, 2017). In 2012, he was awarded with Josep Pla Award for ''Quan érem feliços.'' In 2014 he won the Maria Àngels Anglada Prize for ''Quan en dèiem xampany''. In 2019, he published ''El fill de l’italià'' and won the most important prize in Catalan literature, the Ramon Llull Literary Award. Girona (officially and in Catalan , Spanish: ''Gerona'' ) is a city in northern Catalonia, Spain, at the confluence of the Ter, Onyar, Galligants, and Güell rivers. The Maria Àngels Anglada Prize (in Catalan: ''Premi de Narrativa Maria Àngels Anglada''; ) is a Catalan literary award, given annually by the ''Institut Ramon Muntaner'' ("Ramon Muntaner Secondary School"), in Figueres (Spain), with the aim of contributing to the promotion of Catalan literature, reaffirming the civic and cultural projection of the school and extolling the memory of the writer Maria Àngels Anglada (Vic, 1930 - Figueres, 1999), ex-professor of the centre. Ramon Llull
Ramon Llull (; c. 1232 – c. 1315/16) was a philosopher, theologian, poet, missionary, and Christian apologist from the Kingdom of Majorca. He invented a philosophical system known as the ''Art'', conceived as a type of universal logic to prove the truth of Christian doctrine to interlocutors of all faiths and nationalities. The ''Art'' consists of a set of general principles and combinatorial operations. It is illustrated with diagrams. A prolific writer, he is also known for his literary works written in Catalan, which he composed to make his ''Art'' accessible to a wider audience. In addition to Catalan and Latin he also probably wrote in Arabic (although no texts in Arabic survive). His books were translated into Occitan, French, and Castilian during his lifetime.
