Radarsoft
Radarsoft is a Dutch software development company that published video games in the 1980s. It released its first game (''3D Tic Tac Toe'') in 1984 for the Commodore 64. Until 1987 Radarsoft released multiple titles for the Amiga, Atari 8-bit computers, Philips MSX, and MS-DOS. Their main focus was the Dutch market, so most games are only available in Dutch. In 1986 Radarsoft went to the American video game market, but a packaging error at a Dutch warehouse cost the studio more money than they were able to recoup. The software company was created after John Vanderaart, Cees Kramer and Edwin Neuteboom, who had already made several games together, met law student Leonardo Jacobs. Later, the four students from Leiden worked with the cartoonist Wijo Koek. They got in touch with Maurice de Hond through Jacobs, and were commissioned to make a topography program. ''Peanuts'' (briefly subtitled ''featuring Good ol' Charlie Brown'') is a syndicated daily and Sunday American comic strip written and illustrated by Charles M. Schulz. The strip's original run extended from 1950 to 2000, continuing in reruns afterward. Alphen aan den Rijn (; or "Alphen on the Rhine") is a city and municipality in the western Netherlands, in the province of South Holland. The city is situated on the banks of the river Oude Rijn (Utrecht and South Holland), Oude Rijn (Old Rhine), where the river Gouwe (river), Gouwe branches off. The Compact Disc-Interactive (CD-I, later CD-i) is a digital optical disc data storage format as well as a hardware platform, co-developed and marketed by Dutch company Philips and Japanese company Sony. It was created as an extension of CDDA and CD-ROM and specified in the '' Green Book'' specifications, co-developed by Philips and Sony, to combine audio, text and graphics. The two companies initially expected to impact the education/training, point of sale, and home entertainment industries, but the CD-i is largely remembered today for its video games. Dixons is a Dutch chain of stores specialising in what it refers to as leisure time electronics. This means that Dixons does not sell products like washing machines or televisions but does provide things like digital cameras, PC's, MP3 players, gaming consoles and mobile phones. In 2015, V&D operated 67 branches throughout the Netherlands, of which 64 department stores and 3 standalone locations of La Place (restaurant chain), La Place, V&D's former subsidiary restaurant chain which had in-house and standalone restaurants throughout the country. Maurice De Hond
Maurice de Hond (born 8 October 1947) is a Dutch pollster and entrepreneur. He is the founder of the Steve JobsSchool, an elementary school which gives each student an iPad to encourage individualized learning. As of 2016, 35 public schools in the Netherlands adopted the school model. Two Steve JobsSchools opened in South Africa in 2016. The schools closed after a negative report by government educational inspectors found that students who graduated from the schools were lacking severely in educational skills and the foundation running the schools declared bankruptcy in 2018.
