RSFI
The Roller Skating Federation of India (RSFI) is the national governing body for roller sports in India. The RSFI was established in 1955, and has been affiliated to the Fédération Internationale de Roller Sports (now World Skate) since 1971. The RSFI was a founder member of the Confederation of Asian Roller Sports, Confederation Asian Roller Sports (CARS) in 1978. The Federation was officially recognized by the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports in September 1990, and was subsequently recognized by the Indian Olympic Association. The RSFI holds the annual National Roller Sports Championships in for males and females in age groups Sub Juniors (11 to 14 years), Juniors (14 to 17 Years) and Seniors (above 17 years) in the disciplines of artistic skating, speed skating, inline freestyle, roller freestyle, roller hockey, inline hockey, inline downhill, inline alpine, skateboarding and roller derby. Roller Sport In India
Roller sport is popular as a recreational sport in India, specially roller skating for children, and it is gaining popularity as a competitive sport. There are clubs in cities and towns, and roller skating is taught in some schools of urban areas. Structure Roller sports in India are governed by the Roller Skating Federation of India, which was founded by S.P.Mumick in 1955. Tulsi Agarwal has been a long time office bearer of the federation. Individual skaters are registered with a club. The clubs are registered with district associations, which are in turn affiliated with the state associations. The state associations are affiliated with the RSFI. Disciplines Inline speed skating, Speed skating, Artistic roller skating, artistic skating, and roller hockey are the three types of roller sports that are common in India.
