R3 (video Game)
''R3: The Art of Rocketry'' is a video game written by Bruce Webster for the Amiga released in 1995. It was a playable demo on the coverdisks of ''Amiga Power'' (issue 54) in October 1995 and on ''Amiga Format'' (issue 89) in September 1996. The game was initially released as shareware, but the author later released the full game as freeware on Aminet in 2000. The registered version included ''Tritus'' from Davin Pearson, a three-player competitive ''Tetris''-inspired game, much in the same manner of the game '' Super Foul Egg''. Bruce Webster
Bruce F. Webster is an American academic and software engineer. He is currently a principal at Bruce F. Webster & Associates and an adjunct professor in computer science at Brigham Young University. Early life and education Webster studied computer science at Brigham Young University, graduating in 1978 with a bachelor's degree. He had received a full National Merit Scholarship for his studies. He went on to do graduate work in computer science at the University of Houston-Clear Lake in Houston, Texas. Career Webster, since 1980, has written over 150 articles on the computer industry and software development. Amiga
Amiga is a family of personal computers introduced by Commodore International, Commodore in 1985. The original model is one of a number of mid-1980s computers with 16- or 32-bit processors, 256 KB or more of RAM, mouse-based GUIs, and significantly improved graphics and audio compared to previous 8-bit systems. This includes the Atari ST—released earlier the same year—as well as the Macintosh and Acorn Archimedes. ''Amiga Power'' (''AP'') was a monthly magazine about Amiga video games. It was published in the United Kingdom by Future plc, and ran for 65 issues, from May 1991 to September 1996. Philosophy ''Amiga Power'' had several principles which comprised its philosophy regarding games. Like almost all Amiga magazines of the time, they marked games according to a percentage scale. However, ''Amiga Power'' firmly believed that the full range of this scale should be used when reviewing games. A game of average quality rated on this scale would therefore be awarded 50%. ''Amiga Format'' was a British computer magazine for Amiga computers, published by Future plc. The magazine lasted 136 issues from 1989 to 2000. ''Super Foul Egg'' is a ''Puyo Puyo'' clone for the Amiga and the Acorn Archimedes. It was inspired by ''Amiga Power''s comment that no decent clone of the game was made for the machine. After reading the comment, a reader created the game and sent it to the magazine, which included it on their cover disk.
