Queen Sea Big Shark
Queen Sea Big Shark ( Chinese: 后海大鲨鱼; Pinyin: hòuhǎi dàshāyú) is a Beijing-based Chinese indie rock band. The group consists of lead singer Fu Han (付菡), guitarist Cao Pu (曹璞), guitarist Wang Zi (王梓), bassist Wang Jinghan (王静涵), and drummer Xiao Wu (小武). The group formed in 2005. On how they got their name, Fu Han said: "One day we walked around Houhai (Queen Sea) Lake in Beijing, we saw a sign that read 'This is mine, don't even touch it, I'm the Houhai Houhai ( 'Rear Lake') is a lake and its surrounding neighborhood in Xicheng District of central Beijing, China. Dance-rock is a dance-infused genre of rock music. It is a post-disco genre connected with pop rock and post-punk with fewer rhythm and blues influences. It originated in the early 1980s, following the decline in popularity of both punk and disco. Alternative rock (also known as alternative music, alt-rock or simply alternative) is a category of rock music that evolved from the independent music underground of the 1970s. Houhai
Houhai ( 'Rear Lake') is a lake and its surrounding neighborhood in Xicheng District of central Beijing, China. Houhai is the largest of the three lakes, along with Qianhai 'Front Lake' and Xihai 'Western Lake', that comprise Shichahai, the collective name for the three northernmost lakes in central Beijing. Since the early 2000s, the hutong neighborhood around Houhai has become known for its nightlife as many residences along the lake shore have been converted into restaurants, bars, and cafes. Hedgehog (band)
Hedgehog is a Chinese indie rock trio formed in 2005 by partners ZO (Zhao Zijian) and Atom (Shi Lu). The band has a strong reputation throughout the country, renowned for their energetic live performances and catchy song writing. Entertainment event and venue listing magazine City Weekend listed Hedgehog in their articles The Beijing Bands You Should Already Know About and The Hottest Bands of 2011.
