Quebec Route 155
Route 155 is a north/south highway on the north shore of the Saint Lawrence River in Quebec, Canada. Its northern terminus is in Chambord at the junction of Route 169, and the southern terminus is the Piles Bridge in Shawinigan. Previously the highway continued to Autoroute 20 but that section was decommissioned in 2006 when Autoroute 55 was completed.Ministère des Transport: "Carte routière officiel, Le Québec", Les Publications du Québec, 2007 Most of the length of the highway runs in the Mauricie region very close to the Saint-Maurice River on the opposite side of which is the La Mauricie National Park (Parks Canada). Quebec Autoroute 55
Autoroute 55 (also called Autoroute de l'Énergie north of the Autoroute 20 and Autoroute Joseph-Armand Bombardier south of it) is an important north–south Autoroute and the only one running in that direction in central Quebec. It is the longest north-south Autoroute, beginning as the continuation of I-91 at the Canada–United States border near Stanstead and continuing to Shawinigan, where it downgrades to Route 155. The total length of A-55 is currently long, including concurrencies with Autoroute 10, Autoroute 20 and Autoroute 40. Lac-Bouchette () is a municipality in Quebec, Canada. The town is located on the eastern shore of the eponymous Bouchette Lake, along Quebec Route 155 and the Canadian National Railway. La Bostonnais, Quebec
La Bostonnais is a municipality (Quebec), municipality in the Mauricie Quebec region, region of the Provinces and territories of Canada, province of Quebec in Canada. The community is about north of La Tuque's town centre along Quebec Route 155. The municipality takes its name from the nearby Bostonnais River, Bostonnais and Little Bostonnais Rivers. This name probably came from an American man originally from Boston who joined the Abenaki at the beginning of the 19th century. In 1823, a reference was made to an Abenaki man named Jean-Baptiste Bostonnais who had one of his daughters baptized at Trois-Rivières. The Bostonnais family had their hunting territory in the area where the namesake rivers flow. Trois-Rives () is a municipality with an area of located in Mékinac Regional County Municipality, in the Mid-Mauricie, province of Quebec, Canada. History It was established in 1972 as Boucher, named after the geographic township of Boucher in which it is located. This name was chosen in honour of Pierre Boucher, former French governor of Trois-Rivières and owner of the Boucher and Boucherville Seignories in the late 17th century. Grandes-Piles () is a village municipality (Quebec), village municipality in the Mauricie Quebec region, region of the Provinces and territories of Canada, province of Quebec in Canada. The name of Grandes-Piles (literally "large piles") has uncertain origin. One of the best-known but false explanations is that it referred to a stack of logs entanglement on the rocks of the Saint-Maurice River, Saint-Maurice that inspired the early settlers.
