Qizilqum Zarafshon
Qizilqum Zarafshon (), is an Uzbek professional football club based in Navoiy. They play in the Uzbekistan Super League. The club is named after the Qizilqum desert, the biggest in Central Asia. Qizilqum in Uzbek means "red sands". History Qizilqum was founded in 1967 under the name ''Progress''. The club changed its name several times and was known as ''Qizilqum'' before becoming known as ''Progress''. Since 1997 it has played as ''Qizilqum''. The club made its debut in the Uzbek League in 2000. In its first season the club finished in 11th position. One year later, in the 2001 season, the club finished in 6th place in final League table. At the end of the 2002 season the club finished in 3rd position behind runners-up Neftchi Farg'ona which is their highest finishing position in the Uzbek League to date. Navoiy
Navoiy ( ; ) is a city and the capital of Navoiy Region in the central part of Uzbekistan. Administratively, it is a district-level city, that includes the urban-type settlement Tinchlik, Navoiy, Tinchlik. The city is named after Alisher Navoiy. As of 2024, its population was 161,300 inhabitants. History The city was founded in 1958, near the "Old city" originally known as Karmana under the Emirate of Bukhara, under the name of the great poet and statesman Alisher Navoiy, who wrote in Persian language, Persian and Chagatai language, Chaghatai at the court of Emir Husein Boykara (or Husayn Bayqarah, Husayn Bayqaro) in Herat. Rustam Zairovich Zabirov (; born 23 October 1966) is an Uzbek- Tajik football manager and former football player and coach. He played for Pamir Dushanbe, Navbahor Namangan, Rubin Kazan and other clubs. Club career In 1991, he moved from Pamir Dushanbe to Navbahor Namangan. In 1991 season he played 35 matches for Navbahor in Soviet First League, scoring 19 goals. One year later, in first season of Uzbek League, Zabirov completed 30 matches and scored 15 goals, becoming the best season top scorer of club. In 1992, he moved to SV Meppen to play in 2.Bundesliga. In 1992-1993 season he played 10 matches for ''SV Meppen''. From 1996 to 1997 he played for Rubin Kazan. Zabirov later signed for National Football League (India) side Vasco SC in 2000.
