"Push It" is a song by American hip hop group Salt-N-Pepa. It was first released as the B-side of the "Tramp" single in 1987. Then released by Next Plateau and London Records, it peaked at number 19 on the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100 in early 1988 and, after initially peaking at number 41 in the UK, it re-entered the charts after the group performed the track at Nelson Mandela's 70th birthday concert, eventually peaking at number two in the UK in July 1988. The song has also been certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). The song is ranked number 446 on ''Rolling Stone''s list of the " 500 Greatest Songs of All Time" and was ranked number nine on VH1's "100 Greatest Songs of Hip Hop". You Really Got Me
"You Really Got Me" is a song by the English rock band the Kinks, written by frontman Ray Davies and released as their third single in 1964. The song, originally performed in a more blues-oriented style, was inspired by artists such as Lead Belly and Big Bill Broonzy. Two versions were recorded, with the second performance used for the final single. Lead guitarist Dave Davies performs the song's famous guitar solo. Although it was long rumoured that future Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page had performed the song's guitar solo, this has been debunked by Page himself. "You Really Got Me" is built around power chords (perfect fifths and octaves) and it heavily influenced later rock musicians, particularly in the heavy metal and punk rock genres. Trio was formed in 1980 by Stephan Remmler, Gert "Kralle" Krawinkel and Peter Behrens. Released as a single in 1982 and featured on their 1981 self-titled debut album, "Da Da Da" became a hit in Germany and about 30 other countries, selling 13 million copies worldwide. Trio was a German band formed in the town of Großenkneten in 1979. The band is most known for the 1982 song "Da Da Da" which was a hit in 30 countries worldwide. History Trio consisted of Stephan Remmler (b. 1946), lead vocals and keyboards; Kralle Krawinkel, Gert "Kralle" Krawinkel (1947–2014), guitar and backing vocals; and Peter Behrens (musician), Peter Behrens (1947–2016), drums and backing vocals. "Pop Muzik" is a 1979 song by M, a project by English musician Robin Scott, from his debut studio album '' New York • London • Paris • Munich''. The song was accompanied by a well-received music video (directed by Brian Grant) showing Scott as a DJ behind an exaggerated turntable setup, at times flanked by two female models who sang and danced in a robotic manner. The video also featured Scott's then-partner Brigit Novik, who provided the backup vocals for the track. "M Factor", the song's B-side, featured in two different versions. Mellotron
The Mellotron is an electro-mechanical musical instrument developed in Birmingham, England, in 1963. It is played by pressing its keys, each of which causes a length of magnetic tape to contact a Capstan (tape recorder), capstan, which pulls it across a playback head. As the key is released, the tape is retracted by a spring to its initial position. Different portions of the tape can be played for different sounds. The Mellotron evolved from the similar Chamberlin, but could be mass-produced more efficiently. The first models were designed for the home and contained a variety of sounds, including automatic accompaniments. Bandleader Eric Robinson (conductor), Eric Robinson and television personality David Nixon (magician), David Nixon helped promote the first instruments, and celebrities such as Princess Margaret were early adopters. Devo is an American new wave band from Akron, Ohio, formed in 1973. James Brown
