''Push'' is the third studio album by American post-punk band Sextile. Released on September 15, 2023 by Sacred Bones Records, it is the band's first album after their reunion and death of their former member, Eddie Wuebben. Background and music Following the death of former Sextile member Eddie Wuebben in 2019, the band took a hiatus, with band members Brady Keehn and Melissa Scaduto focusing on their side projects, Panther Modern and S. Product, respectively. Reuniting in 2022, the band released the single “Modern Weekend / Contortion” in 2022 and began recording ''Push'' after touring extensively. With the return of the former guitarist Cameron Michel, the album was partly recorded in Keehn's residence in Los Angeles and Yucca Valley. During this time, the band signed to Sacred Bones Records for the release of the album. The album was announced on July 2023, with the release of the single "New York" and its music video. Sextile is an American post-punk band from Los Angeles, California. The band consists of founding members Brady Keehn (vocals, guitar, electronics) and Melissa Scaduto (drums, electronics, guitar). The band takes its name from the aspect of the same name in astrology. History Sextile was formed in 2015 by Keehn and Scaduto, after the duo relocated from Brooklyn, New York to Los Angeles. They were soon joined by bassist Kenny Elkin and multi-instrumentalist Eddie Wuebben. Signing to Felte Records after supporting Ritual Howls at local gigs, the band released its debut album, ''A Thousand Hands'' in the same year. Its follow-up, '' Albeit Living'', was released in 2017; by the time of its release, Elkin was replaced by bassist Cameron Michel. In 2018, Sextile released the single "Current Affair," with the band reduced to its two founding members for their EP, ''3'', later in the year. Happy Mondays
Happy Mondays are an English rock band formed in Salford in 1980. The original line-up consisted of brothers Shaun Ryder (vocals) and Paul Ryder (bass), Gaz Whelan (drums), Paul Davis (keyboard), and Mark Day (guitar). Mark "Bez" Berry later joined the band onstage as a dancer and maracas player. Rowetta began working with the band as guest second vocalist in 1990. They were originally signed to Tony Wilson's Factory Records label. The group's work bridged the Manchester alternative rock music of the 1980s and the emerging UK rave scene, drawing influence from funk, house, and psychedelia to pioneer the Madchester sound. They experienced their commercial peak with the releases '' Bummed'' (1988), '' Madchester Rave On'' (1989), and '' Pills 'n' Thrills and Bellyaches'' (1990), with the latter going platinum in the UK. Punk rock (also known as simply punk) is a rock music genre that emerged in the mid-1970s.
