Phagwara
Phagwara is a city and municipal corporation in Kapurthala district in Punjab, India. It lies on National Highway 44 and located 40 kilometres from Kapurthala, the district headquarter, away from Chandigarh, away from Jalandhar and from New Delhi. The Punjab State Super Football League is an Indian top state-level regional league for men's football clubs. The league serves as the top football league in the state of Punjab and is sanctioned by Punjab Football Association. The league is currently sponsored by JCT Limited, thus making the official name JCT Punjab State Super Football League. History Started in 1986, the Punjab State Super Football League was started by the Punjab Football Association, however, during the early days, the league was played as a knock-out tournament which was played out for at least one week and thus the league was not granted "state league" status by the All India Football Federation till 2001. JCT FC
Jagatjit Cotton & Textile Football Club (formerly known as JCT Mills FC; abbreviated as both JCT FC, or simply JCT) was an Indian professional football club based in Phagwara, Punjab. Founded in 1971, the club was sponsored by Jagatjit Cotton and Textile Mills under the leadership of Samir Thapar and participated in the National Football League which was later renamed I-League. They also participated in Punjab State Super Football League under licence from Punjab Football Association. The club was disbanded in 2011.
