Preved () is a term used in the Padonkaffsky jargon, a internet meme, meme in the Internet in Russia, Russian-speaking Internet which developed out of a heavily circulated picture, and consists of choosing alternative spellings for words for comic effect. The picture, a modified version of John Lurie's watercolor ''Bear Surprise'', whose popularity was stoked by emails and blogs, features a man and a woman having sex in the clearing of a forest, being surprised by a bear calling "Surprise!" with its paws raised. In later Russian adaptations, the bear shouts "Preved!" (a deliberate misspelling of ''privet'', – "hi!"). In keeping with a popular trend of Image macro, image manipulation, the iconic bear — dubbed (), a misspelling of ("bear") — has been inserted into many other pictures where his appearance adds a new dimension to the joke. Bear Surprise
''Bear Surprise'' (often dubbed just ''Surprise!'') is a watercolor painting by American painter/musician John Lurie, the style of which has been described as primitivist and Naïve art, naïve. The painting depicts a couple having Sexual intercourse, sex in a meadow, with a bear standing in front of them, with forepaws in a distinctive position. There is a speech bubble beside the head of the bear, which reads "Surprise!". The painting features in a popular internet meme in Runet (terminology), Russian online culture. It has been described by Victor Sonkin in ''The Moscow Times'' as having "gained vast popularity with the speed of an avalanche". Its popularity in Runet (terminology), Runet led to the bear's speech bubble being changed from "Surprise" to ''"Preved"'', misspelling of the Russian word ''privet'' ("hello" or "hi"). Dmitry Anatolyevich Medvedev (born 14 September 1965) is a Russian politician and lawyer who has served as Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia since 2020. Eye Dialect
Eye dialect is a writer's use of deliberately nonstandard spelling either because they do not consider the standard spelling a good reflection of the pronunciation or because they are intending to portray vernacular, informal or low-status language usage. The term was coined by George Philip Krapp to refer to a literary technique that implies the standard pronunciation of a given word that is not well-reflected by its standard spelling, such as ''wimmin'' to represent more accurately the typical English pronunciation of ''women''. John Lurie (born December 14, 1952) is an American musician, painter, actor, director, and producer. He co-founded the Lounge Lizards jazz ensemble; has acted in 19 films, including ''Stranger than Paradise'' and '' Down by Law''; has composed and performed music for 20 television and film works; and he produced, directed, and starred in the '' Fishing with John'' television series.
