Pramuka Island
Pramuka is an island in the Thousand Islands archipelagic regency in Jakarta which serves as the islands' regency seat. Demographics Ethnic groups on the island are Betawi, Bugis, Bantenese, Javanese, Madura, and Minangkabau. Facilities on the island include a school, mosque, hospital, dock, and homestay for tourists. Transportation This island can be reached in two and half hours by motorboat from Muara Angke Jakarta, or faster by speedboat from Marina Ancol Jakarta. Boat rentals to other islands in the archipelago are also available. Conservation There is a hawksbill turtle (''Erethmochelys imbricata'') conservation in this island. The island coast is planted with mangrove to protect it. Regency (Indonesia)
A regency ( id, kabupaten), sometimes incorrectly referred to as a district, is an administrative division of Indonesia, directly under a province and on the same level with city (''kota''). Regencies is divided into districts (''Kecamatan'', ''Distrik'' in Papua region, or ''Kapanewon'' in the Special Region of Yogyakarta). The English name "regency" comes from the Dutch colonial period, when regencies were ruled by ''bupati'' (or regents) and were known as ''regentschap'' in Dutch (''kabupaten'' in Javanese and subsequently Indonesian). Thousand Islands Regency
The Thousand Islands (Indonesian: ''Kepulauan Seribu'') are a chain of islands to the north of Jakarta's coast. It forms the only regency of Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia. Swietenia Puspa Lestari
Swietenia Puspa Lestari (born 23 December 1994) is an Indonesian underwater diver, environmental engineer and environmental activist. Life Lestari is a native of Pramuka Island in the Java Sea. A keen diver from childhood, she studied environmental engineering at Bandung Institute of Technology, graduating in 2017. She is executive director and co-founder of Jakarta-based Divers Clean Action (DCA) and leads a team of volunteer divers who clear rubbish, especially plastic waste from the reefs and recycle what they find. Beginning with three people in 2015, the DCA has grown to 12 team members and nearly 1,500 volunteers across Indonesia. Lestari related that diving to collect waste can be dangerous because of the high currents, but that the rapid increase in tourism since 2007 has led to far more trash being dumped into the formerly pristine seas around Indonesia's many islands. Mangrove
A mangrove is a shrub or tree that grows in coastal saline or brackish water. The term is also used for tropical coastal vegetation consisting of such species. Mangroves are taxonomically diverse, as a result of convergent evolution in several plant families. They occur worldwide in the tropics and subtropics and even some temperate coastal areas, mainly between latitudes 30° N and 30° S, with the greatest mangrove area within 5° of the equator. Mangrove plant families first appeared during the Late Cretaceous to Paleocene epochs, and became widely distributed in part due to the movement of tectonic plates. Hawksbill Turtle
The hawksbill sea turtle (''Eretmochelys imbricata'') is a critically endangered sea turtle belonging to the family Cheloniidae. It is the only extant species in the genus ''Eretmochelys''. The species has a global distribution, that is largely limited to tropical and subtropical marine and estuary ecosystems. The hawksbill's appearance is similar to that of other marine turtles. In general, it has a flattened body shape, a protective Carapace#Turtles and tortoises, carapace, and flipper (anatomy), flipper-like limbs, adapted for swimming in the open ocean. ''E. imbricata'' is easily distinguished from other sea turtles by its sharp, curving beak with prominent tomium, and the wikt:serration, saw-like appearance of its shell margins. A marina (from Spanish language, Spanish , Portuguese language, Portuguese and Italian language, Italian : ''marina'', "coast" or "shore") is a Dock (maritime), dock or basin with moorings and supplies for yachts and small boats. A marina differs from a port in that a marina does not handle large passenger ships or cargo from freighters. Muara Angke
Muara Angke is a fishing port located at Kapuk Muara, Penjaringan, along the north coast of Jakarta, Indonesia. The port is integrated with fishermen's housing and a fishing port management office owned by the Jakarta government. It has modern fish market with supporting facilities for landing and auction of fishes. The port is located at the mouth of Angke River, where it meets Java Sea. Muara Angke Wildlife Reserve is also located in this area, adjacent to Muara Karang.
