Prabhat Film Company
Prabhat Film Company (popularly known as Prabhat Films) was an Indian film production company and studio facility founded in 1929 in Kolhapur. It was established by filmmaker V. Shantaram, along with Vishnupant Govind Damle, Keshav Rao Dhaibar, S. Fatelal, and S. V. Kulkarni. The company gained prominence during the transition from Silent film, silent films to Sound film, talkies and was recognised for its technical excellence and socially conscious storytelling. In 1933, the company moved to Pune, where it established its own studio. Over 24 years, Prabhat Films produced 45 films in Marathi language, Marathi and Hindi. During the advent of talkies in India, Prabhat Films, along with Kolkata's New Theatres, stood out for its artistic achievements and socially relevant themes. Eknath
Eknath (IAST: Eka-nātha, Marathi pronunciation: knath (1533–1599), was an Indian Hindu Vaishnava saint, philosopher and poet. He was a devotee of the Hindu deity Vitthal and is a major figure of the Warkari movement. Eknath is often viewed as a spiritual successor to the prominent Marathi saints Dnyaneshwar and Namdev. Biography Precise details of his life remain obscure. It is generally believed that Eknath lived during the latter three-quarters of the 16th-century. ''Alam Ara'' () is a 1931 Indian Hindustani-language historical fantasy film directed and produced by Ardeshir Irani. It revolves around a king and his two wives, Navbahaar and Dilbahaar, who are childless; soon, a ''fakir'' (Wazir Muhammad Khan) tells the king that the former wife will give birth to a boy, later named Qamar ( Master Vithal), but the child will die following his 18th birthday if Navbahaar cannot find the necklace he asks for. Baburao Pendharkar (22 June 1896 3 November 1967), was an Indian actor, director, film producer and writer. Personal life Baburao Pendharkar was born on 22 June 1896 in Kolhapur in a Brahmin family. Born to Radhabai and her patron Dr Gopal Pendharkar, Baburao was related to quite a few film personalities in Indian film industry. Maharashtra Film Company was an Indian film production company, established by Baburao Painter in Kolhapur. Established in 1918, it was a silent film studio, which was a pioneer in Maharashtra and Marathi cinema, under the patronage of the Shahu Maharaj, the Maharaja of Kolhapur. It released the first significant historical, '' Sairandhari'', released in Pune 7 February 1920. In the coming decade the only other major company was Dada Saheb Phalke's Hindustan Film Company. Baburao Krishnarao Mestry, popularly known as Baburao Painter (3 June 1890 – 16 January 1954) was an Indian Filmmaking, filmmaker and artist. He was a man of many talents with proficiency in painting, sculpture, film production, photography, and mechanical engineering. Early life Baburao was born in a simple family on 3 June 1890 in Kolhapur, Maharashtra. He had only studied till class four or five in a Marathi language, Marathi medium school. His father Krishnarao Mestry was a blacksmith and Carpentry, carpenter by profession, but he also excelled in painting, stone and marble sculpting along with ivory carving. ''Amar Jyoti'' (Eternal Flame) is a List of Bollywood films of 1936, 1936 Hindi social, action adventure, drama film directed by V. Shantaram.
