North American English
North American English (NAmE) encompasses the English language as spoken in both the United States and Canada. Because of their related histories and cultures, plus the similarities between the pronunciations (accents), vocabulary, and grammar of American English, U.S. English and Canadian English, linguists often group the two together. Canadians are generally tolerant of both British and American spellings, although certain words always take British spellings (e.g., ''cheque'') and others American spellings (e.g., ''tire'' rather than ''tyre''). Dialects of English spoken by United Empire Loyalists who fled the American Revolution (1775–1783) have had a large influence on Canadian English from its early roots. Some terms in North American English are used almost exclusively in Canada and the United States (for example, the terms ''diaper'' and ''gasoline'' are widely used instead of ''nappy'' and ''petrol''). Although many English speakers from outside North America regard ...

Pat's Hubba Hubba
Pat's Hubba Hubba, also known as "Hubba's", was a late-night greasy spoon chili restaurant located at 24 North Main Street in the village of Port Chester in Westchester County, New York. Near the New York-Connecticut border, Hubba's catered to the local bar scene by staying open until 5:00 am on the weekends, and at least 3:00 am on weeknights. History The restaurant was originally known as "Texas Quick Lunch", and was owned by Edna Kaplan and operated by Mildred Meade. Pat Carta bought the storefront location of the former Texas Quick Lunch in 1989 and changed the name to "Ricks orange", the same as his original restaurant in the "Chickahominy" section of Greenwich, Connecticut. He expanded the menu from simple chili and chili dogs (known locally as "Texas hots") to variants including the popular chili cheese fries. By the early to mid-1990s, Carta opened a second location at 820 Cove Road, in Stamford, Fairfield County, Connecticut.A third location followed, also i ...

Hubba Hideout
Hubba Hideout was one of the most famous skateboarding spots. It was located in San Francisco near the Justin Herman Plaza on The Embarcadero. Its central features were two oversized sets of 6 stairs with large concrete ledges on both sides. The spot is part of a pedestrian walkway but was more commonly used by the local skateboarders and vagrants. The city of San Francisco made numerous attempts over the years to ward off skateboarders from the spot, and in January 2011 city workers completely demolished its ledges and stairs. Etymology Hubba Hideout got its handle because of the nefarious denizens that would frequent the skate spot looking for a hidden place to engage in illicit activity. The nickname was a nod to the Bay Area slang term for crack cocaine: "hubbas." Appearing in numerous skateboard videos and attracting a wide following, the Hubba Hideout eventually gained such popularity among skaters that the term "hubba" became synonymous with any type of concrete ledge that ...

Hubba Bubba
Hubba Bubba is a brand of bubble gum produced by Wm. Wrigley Jr. Company, a subsidiary of Mars, Incorporated. Introduced in the United States in 1979, the bubble gum got its name from the phrase "Hubba Hubba", which some military personnel in World War II used to express approval. The main gimmick used to promote the gum is that, as Hubba Bubba is less sticky than other brands of gum, it is easier to peel off the skin after a bubble bursts. When Hubba Bubba was first marketed, the gum's flavor (now often referred to as ''original'') was similar to that of others but, over time, different flavors have been produced. Product description Before its launch, Hubba Bubba had been referred to as "Stagecoach" during product development and early manufacturing at the now-defunct Wrigley plant in Santa Cruz, California. The earliest series of TV commercials for Hubba Bubba that aired in the United States were set in a Wild West town and featured a character known as the Gumfighter, pl ...

Ubba
Ubba (Old Norse: ''Ubbi''; died 878) was a 9th-century Viking and one of the commanders of the Great Heathen Army that invaded Anglo-Saxon England in the 860s. The Great Army appears to have been a coalition of warbands drawn from Scandinavia, Ireland, the Irish Sea region and Continental Europe. There is reason to suspect that a proportion of the Viking forces specifically originated in Frisia, where some Viking commanders are known to have held fiefdoms on behalf of the Franks. Some sources describe Ubba as ' of the Frisians, which could be evidence that he also associated with a Frisian benefice. In 865, the Great Army, apparently led by Ivar the Boneless, overwintered in the Kingdom of East Anglia, before invading and destroying the Kingdom of Northumbria. In 869, having been bought off by the Mercians, the Vikings conquered the Kingdom of East Anglia, East Angles, and in the process killed their king, Edmund the Martyr, Edmund, a man who was later regarded as a saint and Ch ...

Caramba (band)
Caramba was a Swedish novelty music group. They released one self-titled album in 1981, with the single "Hubba Hubba Zoot Zoot" peaking at number 1 in Sweden. The album is chiefly notable due to the entire album being recorded in nonsense language. The songs are made to sound like certain styles of music by imitating the phonemic structure of languages from the appropriate regions. The album was produced by Michael B. Tretow, who is primarily famous for engineering ABBA's records, and featured vocals by another Polar Music artist, Ted Gärdestad. A number of other noted Swedish musicians and singers were rumoured to have taken part in the Caramba recordings, but Tretow confirmed in an interview in 2015 that he and Gärdestad were the primary artists. Roger Palm, the drummer for ABBA, played drums on "Hubba Hubba Zoot Zoot" and , a Swedish comedian known for his prank calls, was involved on the track "Ahllo", according to Tretow.
