Polar Bear was an American alternative rock band that was active in the late 1990s, formed and led by bassist Eric Avery. Man's Ruin Records was an independent record label owned and founded by San Francisco Bay Area artist Frank Kozik. In total, the record label released over 200 singles and albums, with most of the artwork designed by Kozik. After the 1995 release of Man's Ruin's first record, ''Experimental Audio Research (EAR): Delta 6'', Kozik worked with artists whom he wanted to release. He also designed all of the sleeve-art for the releases. The catalog of Man's Ruin is vast, including relatively famous bands such as the Hellacopters, Nebula, Kyuss, High on Fire, Entombed, Turbonegro, 13eaver, Queens of the Stone Age, and the Sex Pistols; and also lesser known bands such as FuckEmos, Soulpreacher, Angel Rot, and the Cowslingers. Eric Avery
Eric Adam Avery (born April 25, 1965) is an American musician. He is best known as the founding bass guitarist and co-songwriter of the alternative rock band Jane's Addiction, with whom he has recorded two studio albums. From 2005 to 2022, Avery was the bassist for Garbage, which he joined as sideman and with whom he recorded three studio albums. A core member of Jane's Addiction during its initial lifespan, Avery co-founded the band in 1985 with frontman Perry Farrell, and recorded two studio albums, '' Nothing's Shocking'' (1988) and '' Ritual de lo Habitual'' (1990), before the band's acrimonious break-up in 1991. Dani Tull
Daniel Joel Tull (born 1966) is a contemporary American painter, sculptor and musician who lives and works in Los Angeles. Early life Tull was born in San Bernardino, California and attended Fairfax High School. In high school he met Michael Jagosz, Tracy Ulrich and Robert Gardner and they formed the band Pyrrhus and played together for two years. Tull left Pyrrhus to attend the San Francisco Art Institute. The remaining band members formed L.A. Guns with Danish bassist Ole Beich in 1983. Life and work Tull received a BFA from The San Francisco Art Institute and a MFA from Stanford University. Jane's Addiction was an American Rock music, rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1985. The band's best known line-up consisted of lead vocalist Perry Farrell, bassist Eric Avery, drummer Stephen Perkins and guitarist Dave Navarro. Jane's Addiction was one of the first bands from the early 1990s alternative rock movement to gain commercial success. David Michael Navarro (born June 7, 1967) is an American guitarist. He is best known as a member of the rock band Jane's Addiction, with whom he has recorded four studio albums. Between 1993 and 1998, Navarro was the guitarist of Red Hot Chili Peppers, recording one studio album, ''One Hot Minute'' (1995), before departing. He has also released one solo album, ''Trust No One (Dave Navarro album), Trust No One'' (2001). Deconstruction was an American alternative rock band formed by bassist/singer Eric Avery and guitarist Dave Navarro, both formerly of Jane's Addiction, with drummer Michael Murphy. They released their sole album in 1994. History Following the initial breakup of Jane's Addiction in 1991, Avery and Navarro formed Deconstruction as a one-time project. They had initially invited Jane's Addiction drummer Stephen Perkins to join the project, but Perkins decided to join Porno for Pyros instead. ''Deconstruction'' is the only album by the band of the same name, released in 1994. It was released by Rick Rubin's label American Recordings and charted at number 31 on the ''Billboard'' Heatseekers album chart. Deconstruction disbanded shortly after the release of the album, with Eric Avery forming the band Polar Bear and Dave Navarro joining Red Hot Chili Peppers. The pair would later reunite as bandmates in Jane's Addiction in 2008. Ethyl Meatplow was an American industrial band best known for their sole album, '' Happy Days, Sweetheart'', released in 1993 by Dali Records. History Ethyl Meatplow gained media coverage for its sexually explicit, burlesque-inspired live performances. They released their sole album '' Happy Days, Sweetheart'' in 1993.
