Pitsi Moloto
Pitsi Paul Moloto is a South African politician and businessman who served in the Limpopo Executive Council from May 2009 to July 2013. Under Premier Cassel Mathale, he served as Limpopo's Member of the Executive Council (MEC) for Economic Development, Environmental Affairs, and Tourism from 2009 to 2012 and as MEC for Roads and Transport from 2012 to 2013. He represented the African National Congress in the Limpopo Provincial Legislature but did not seek re-election in the 2014 general election. Political career Moloto was elected to the Limpopo Provincial Legislature in the 2009 general election, ranked 13th on the ANC's provincial party list. African National Congress
The African National Congress (ANC) is a social-democratic political party in South Africa. A liberation movement known for its opposition to apartheid, it has governed the country since 1994, when the first post-apartheid election installed Nelson Mandela as President of South Africa. Cyril Ramaphosa, the incumbent national President, has served as President of the ANC since 18 December 2017. 2009 South African General Election
General elections were held in South Africa on 22 April 2009 to elect members of the National Assembly and provincial legislatures. These were the fourth general elections held since the end of the apartheid era. The North Gauteng High Court ruled on 9 February 2009 that South African citizens living abroad should be allowed to vote in elections. The judgment was confirmed by the Constitutional Court on 12 March 2009, when it decided that overseas voters who were already registered would be allowed to vote. Registered voters who found themselves outside their registered voting districts on election day were also permitted to vote for the national ballot at any voting station in South Africa. Chupu Stanley Mathabatha (born 21 January 1957) is a South African politician who is currently the Premier of Limpopo. He was elected to the position in July 2013 after the resignation of Cassel Mathale. He was previously a public servant in Limpopo province and from 2012 to 2013 completed a brief stint as a diplomat, serving as South African Ambassador to Ukraine under President Jacob Zuma. The National Assembly is the directly elected house of the Parliament of South Africa, located in Cape Town, Western Cape. It consists of four hundred members who are elected every five years using a party-list proportional representation system where half of the members are elected proportionally from nine provincial lists and the remaining half from national lists so as to restore proportionality. General elections were held in South Africa on 7 May 2014, to elect a new National Assembly of South Africa, National Assembly and new Provincial legislature (South Africa), provincial legislatures in each province.
