Phane Nomenclature
Phanes are abstractions of highly complex organic molecules introduced for simplification of the naming of these highly complex molecules. Systematic nomenclature of organic chemistry consists of building a name for the structure of an organic compound by a collection of names of its composite parts but describing also its relative positions within the structure. Some chemical authorities define an organic compound as a chemical compound that contains a carbon–hydrogen or carbon–carbon bond; others consider an organic compound to be any chemical compound that contains carbon. In chemistry, a superatom is any cluster of atoms that seem to exhibit some of the properties of elemental atoms. One example of a superatom is the cluster . Cyclophane
In organic chemistry, a cyclophane is a hydrocarbon consisting of an aromatic unit (typically a benzene ring) and a Catenation, chain that forms a bridge (chemical), bridge between two non-adjacent positions of the aromatic ring.
