Petrer
Petrer (; ) is a town and municipality located in the '' comarca'' of Vinalopó Mitjà, in the province of Alicante of the autonomous community of Valencia, Spain. Petrer joins together with the city of Elda to form a conurbation with over 95,000 inhabitants. The creek Rambla dels Molins (''Riverbed of the Mills''), a tributary of the river Vinalopó, runs through the urban area of Petrer. The economy of Petrer is based on the industries of footwear, furs, plastics, construction materials and pottery. The most important monuments in Petrer are the Catholic church of ''Sant Bartolomeu'' ( Saint Bartholomew), the Arab castle and the hermitages of ''Sant Bonifaci'' and Christ. The '' Moros i Cristians'' festival of Petrer attracts many tourists each year. Vinalopó
The Vinalopó is a small river flowing through the Province of Alicante, Alicante province, of Spain. It flows from north to south and, with a length of 81 km., it is the longest of the rivers which flows for its entire length within the limits of this province. It discharges into the Mediterranean at Salinas de Santa Pola. For some historians, it corresponds to the ''Alebus'' incidentally mentioned by Avienius in his ''Ora Maritima''. Three comarcas (districts) in the Alicante province are named after it: ''Alt Vinalopó'', ''Vinalopó Mitjà'' and ''Baix Vinalopó'' which mean, respectively, Upper Vinalopó, Middle Vinalopó and Lower Vinalopó. Gedeón Guardiola Villaplana (born 1 October 1984) is a Spanish handballer for Club Balonmano Nava and the Spain national team. He was on the Spanish team that won the 2013 World Championship. The Route of the castles of Vinalopó is a historic and cultural route located in the interior mountains of the Province of Alicante in Spain. It connects castles built to protect the populations of the Vinalopó Valley during the Middle Ages. Begoña Román Maestre (Petrer, 1965) is a Spanish philosopher, university professor, and researcher. Early life and education Begoña Román was born in the town of Petrer, Province of Alicante. She received her PhD in philosophy from the University of Barcelona in 1993 with a thesis entitled under the direction of Artur Juncosa Carbonell. Career and research She was a professor at Ramon Llull University and director of the Chair of Ethics at the same university (1996–2007). José Antonio Justicia Perales (born 6 January 1989) is a Spanish darts player. Career Justicia started his career in 2009 and participated in PDPA Players Championship events in Gibraltar and Nuland. At the end of the year, he attempted to qualify through PDC World Spain Qualifying Event for 2010 PDC World Darts Championship, but lost in the quarterfinal phase to Francisco Ruiz.
