Begoña Román Maestre
Begoña Román Maestre (Petrer, 1965) is a Spanish philosopher, university professor, and researcher. Early life and education Begoña Román was born in the town of Petrer, Province of Alicante. She received her PhD in philosophy from the University of Barcelona in 1993 with a thesis entitled under the direction of Artur Juncosa Carbonell. Career and research She was a professor at Ramon Llull University and director of the Chair of Ethics at the same university (1996–2007). Beginning in 2021, she became a professor at the University of Barcelona. She has supervised seventeen doctoral theses. Roman Maestre is a member of the consolidated research group (Aporía: Contemporary Philosophy, Ethics and Politics). Her area of specialization is ethics applied to professional and organizational environments, where she teaches at the university and provides training in institutions. Begoña Román UB
Begoña is a historical municipality of Biscay (Basque Country (autonomous community), Basque Country, Spain) and is a neighbourhood and urban district of Bilbao. ''Begoña'', or more puristically but also more rarely spelled ''Begoina'', means 'the lower foot', referring to the slopes of Mount Artxanda which lie to the north of the city. Petrer (; ) is a town and municipality located in the '' comarca'' of Vinalopó Mitjà, in the province of Alicante of the autonomous community of Valencia, Spain. Petrer joins together with the city of Elda to form a conurbation with over 95,000 inhabitants. The creek Rambla dels Molins (''Riverbed of the Mills''), a tributary of the river Vinalopó, runs through the urban area of Petrer. Josep Maria Esquirol Calaf (born 1963, Mediona) is a Catalan philosopher, essayist and professor of philosophy at the University of Barcelona. He directs the Aporia' Research Group, whose field of study is contemporary philosophy and, specifically, the relationship between philosophy and psychiatry.
