Peter Curtin
Peter Julian Curtin (31 January 1944 – 18 May 2014) was an Australian television and stage actor, whose career began when he joined the Melbourne Theatre Company, appearing in ''The Plough and the Stars'' with Wendy Hughes. Personal life Curtin married actress Ailsa Piper in 1987. Curtin died, aged 70, on 18 May 2014. Ailsa Piper
Ailsa Mary-Ellen Piper (born 1959) is an Australian writer, director and performer. Career Acting Ailsa Piper worked as an actress in theatre in Perth, Sydney and Melbourne from the early 1980s until 2000. She made her first appearance on TV in 1984 in ''Man of Letters'', but is best known for playing Ruth Wilkinson in the soap opera '' Neighbours'' from 1996 until 1999. She reprised the role in a cameo for the series' 20th anniversary in 2005. Piper is an accomplished narrator of audio books, and continues to work in this field. In 2016, she narrated ''Hope Farm'' by Peggy Drew and '' The Natural Way of Things'' by Charlotte Wood. She also performs a monologue based on the influence of poetry in her life and in particular, on her walking. This was first broadcast on ABC radio's Poetica programme, but has been adapted by Piper for live performance. ''In Pursuit of Honor'' is a 1995 American made-for-cable Western film directed by Ken Olin. Don Johnson stars as a member of a United States Cavalry detachment refusing to slaughter its horses after being ordered to do so by General Douglas MacArthur. The movie follows the plight of the officers as they attempt to save the animals that the Army no longer needs as it modernizes toward a mechanized military. The movie claims to be based on a true story but without firm evidence to support the claim. Plot The film opens in 1932 during an historical event known as the Bonus March. World War I veterans are protesting and rallying in Washington, D.C., demanding immediate cash redemption of bonus certificates that were due to be paid in 1945. ''City Homicide'' is an Australian television drama series that aired on the Seven Network between 27 August 2007 and 30 March 2011. The series was set on the Homicide floor of a metropolitan police headquarters in Melbourne. The main characters were six detectives, who solve the murder cases, and their three superior officers. ''City Homicide'' did not return in its regular format in 2011. A six-episode mini-series titled ''City Homicide: No Greater Honour, No Greater Honour'' was shown instead which marked the closing storyline of the series. ''Satisfaction'' is an Australian television drama series which screened on the subscription television channel Showcase. It also screens in the Republic of Ireland on free-to-air channel TV3 and its sister channel 3e, and in New Zealand on free-to-air channel TV2 respectively.
