Peter Allen (ice Hockey)
Peter Allen (born March 6, 1970) is a Canadian former ice hockey defenceman. He played 8 games in the National Hockey League with the Pittsburgh Penguins during the 1995–96 season. The rest of his career, which lasted from 1993 to 2004, was mainly spent in the minor leagues and then in Europe. Playing career Born in Calgary, Alberta, Allen was taken in the 1991 NHL Supplemental Draft by the Boston Bruins from Yale University. After graduation in 1993, he had a spell with the Canadian National Team before spells in the East Coast Hockey League with the Richmond Renegades and in the American Hockey League for the Prince Edward Island Senators. Another sting with Team Canada followed, including in the 1995 World Championships, winning a bronze medal. Afterwards he signed with the Pittsburgh Penguins as a free agent and played eight games for them during the 1995–96 season but failed to register a point. Defenceman
Defence or defense (in American English) in ice hockey is a player position that is primarily responsible for preventing the opposing team from Goal (ice hockey), scoring. They are often referred to as defencemen, D, D-men or blueliners (the latter a reference to the blue line in ice hockey which represents the boundary of the offensive zone; defencemen generally position themselves along the line to keep the puck in the zone). Richmond Renegades
The Richmond Renegades were a professional ice hockey team in Richmond, Virginia that played in the East Coast Hockey League from 1990 until 2003. The Renegades played at the Richmond Coliseum, which they marketed in later years as ''the Freezer''. The Renegades folded in 2003, but were succeeded by the Richmond RiverDogs of the United Hockey League. History In their 13 seasons, the Renegades won the Riley Cup as league champion in the 1994–95 season, the Brabham Cup in 1995–96 as regular season champion, and the Northern Conference championship in 1998–99. The 2nd Eishockey-Bundesliga was the second tier of Ice hockey in Germany until 2012/13 and has since been replaced by DEL2. Schwenninger Wild Wings
The Schwenninger Wild Wings are a professional Germany, German ice hockey team from Villingen-Schwenningen in Baden-Wuerttemberg that was founded on 20 July 1904 and currently plays in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL). The greatest success of the association was to reach the play-off semi-finals of the first Bundesliga in 1990. In 1994 the Wild Wings were a founding member of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga. The Deutsche Eishockey Liga (for sponsorship reasons called Penny (supermarket), PENNY Deutsche Eishockey Liga) (; English: ''German Ice Hockey League'') or DEL, is a professional ice hockey league in Germany and the highest division in German ice hockey. EHC Chur (formerly EHC Chur Sport AG) is a Switzerland, Swiss professional ice hockey team based in Chur, Switzerland. The club currently plays in the Swiss League (SL). The Swiss League, also known as the Sky Swiss League for sponsorship reasons, is the second tier of the main professional ice hockey league in Switzerland, behind the National League (ice hockey), National League. The winners of the league each season plays a best-of-seven series against the bottom team of the NL, and if they win, they are promoted, while the National League team is relegated to the Swiss League. In 2024, the Swiss League changed its name to Sky Swiss League as a partnership with broadcaster Sky Switzerland.
