The Peerless Motor Car Company was an American automobile manufacturer that produced the Peerless brand of motorcars in Cleveland, Ohio, from 1900 to 1931. Peerless popularized a number of vehicle innovations that later became standard equipment, including drum brakes and the first enclosed-body production cars. Peerless Brewing Company is an independent microbrewery based in Birkenhead on the Wirral Peninsula, producing cask brewed beers by combining traditional techniques and fine ingredients with a modern tang. The stainless-steel brew-plant is capable of brewing both ales and lagers. The Brewery brew about 3000 pints per batch. A gas-fired boiler provides the super-heated steam for the brewing process. Peerless Group is an Indian business conglomerate headquartered in Kolkata, West Bengal. History The company was established in 1932 by industrialist Radhashyam Roy (then a School Teacher) in Narayanganj, Bangladesh. The company shifted base to Calcutta (now Kolkata) in 1935. Peerless Records was a record label based in Mexico. Peerless was founded in 1921 in Mexico City by E. Baptista. Early pressings of their gramophone record were made under contract by Gennett Records. By 1933, Peerless was pressing its own records in Mexico. Geiser Manufacturing Company was an early manufacturing company in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania. Geiser Manufacturing was incorporated in 1869 by Peter and Daniel Geiser. The company built grain separators, threshing machine, threshers, plows, and traction engine, steam traction engines. The company's brand name was Peerless. The main building was 334 ft long and 3 stories in height, and had a 34 ft cupola. In January 1891 its total monthly payroll amounted to over 10,000 US dollars ($239500 in 2010 dollars) and employed 162 people. In 1899 the company expanded outside Waynesboro and bought the Crowell industrial park in Greencastle, Pennsylvania, and began producing its Geiser's first gasoline engines there. Peerless, Utah
Peerless is a ghost town in Carbon County, Utah, United States. It is located just west of Helper. History In 1916, of land were purchased by William and Charles Sweet. They immediately began to develop coal mining operations. In 1917, the Sweets sold the property to the Peerless Coal Company. Coal shipments began over the Denver and Rio Grande Western Railroad in 1918. As the mining continued, the population grew. At its peak, the town's population was about 300, half of which worked in the mines. The community included thirty homes, a store, a school, the mine office, a post office, and a poolhall. Coal production peaked in World War I, when 2,000 tons of coal was mined daily. In 1938, coal mining activity began to decline and people began to leave. By World War II, the mine was operating very little, and only a few people remained. The mine closed in 1954, and the rest of the residents left. A few foundations and filled-in mine shafts remain. The Peerless Building, at 1755 Broadway Street in Fresno, California, was built in 1935. Originally built for pump manufacturing, sales and service, it was renovated and reopened 2018 as a mixed-use commercial space. Location The building is on the north end of downtown Fresno, adjacent to the right-of-way of the old Union Pacific Railroad. History Formed in 1923 in Los Angeles, California, Peerless Pump was one of the original companies manufacturing deep well vertical turbine pumps for groundwater applications, particularly effective for agriculture in the San Joaquin Valley.
