Pearcey Award
The Pearcey Awards are a set of prizes presented annually since 1998 by the Pearcey Foundation for achievement in the Australian ICT industry. Pearcey Award Categories Each year, the Pearcey Foundation presents 3 categories of award: ;Pearcey Medal: The Pearcey Medal is awarded annually to the individual who has made the greatest lifetime achievement and contribution to the ICT profession and industry in Australia. ;Pearcey Hall of Fame: In addition to the Pearcey Medal winner, up to two individuals are inducted into the Pearcey Hall of Fame, based on their lifetime contribution to the Australian ICT industry. ;State Pearcey Awards: Each state presents a Pearcey award to an upcoming individual who contributes an innovative or pioneering achievement to research and development within the ICT industry. Pearcey Foundation
The Pearcey Foundation is an Australian organisation dedicated to raising the profile of the Australian Information Technology and Telecommunications industry. The foundation was formed in 1998 and is named after Trevor Pearcey, an Australian engineer who led the team that created CSIRAC, Australia's first and one of the world's earliest digital computers. As part of its work, the Pearcey Foundation presents the Pearcey Awards each year. Renfrey Potts
Renfrey Burnard (Ren) Potts AO (1925–2005) was an Australian mathematician and is notable for the Potts model and his achievements in: operations research, especially networks; transportation science, car-following and road traffic; Ising-type models in mathematical physics; difference equations; and robotics. He was interested in computing from the early days of the computing revolution and oversaw the first computer purchases at the University of Adelaide. Ross Neil Williams is an Australian computer scientist and entrepreneur who has made significant contributions to data compression and data deduplication technologies. Hugh Durrant-Whyte
Hugh Francis Durrant-Whyte (born 6 February 1961) is a British-Australian engineer and academic. He is known for his pioneering work on probabilistic methods for robotics. The algorithms developed in his group since the early 1990s permit autonomous vehicles to deal with uncertainty and to localize themselves despite noisy sensor readings using simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM).
