Pawłowo, Węgorzewo County
Pawłowo () is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Budry, within Węgorzewo County, Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, in northern Poland, close to the border with the Kaliningrad Oblast of Russia. It lies approximately west of Budry, north of Węgorzewo, and north-east of the regional capital Olsztyn. The village has a population of 210. History The village of Pawłowo has a history dating back to the times when the region was under the influence of the Teutonic Order. During the Partitions of Poland, it was incorporated into East Prussia, under German rule. After World War II, with the shifting of Poland's borders and the implementation of the Potsdam Agreement, the village was reintegrated into Poland. Węgorzewo (until 1946 ; ) is a tourist town on the Angrapa River in northeastern Poland, within the historical region of Masuria. It is the seat of Węgorzewo County in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship and is located not far from the border with Russia's Kaliningrad Oblast. Lake Mamry is close to the town. The Potsdam Agreement () was the agreement among three of the Allies of World War II: the United Kingdom, the United States, and the Soviet Union after the war ended in Europe that was signed on 1 August 1945 and published the following day.
