Pawang Nong
{{No footnotes, date=June 2020 Pawang Nong (1874–1977) or his real name is ''Haji Nong Taib Bin Santan'' was once the Royal Pawang of Pahang. He is also a follower and is said to have been associated with the famous warrior hero Mat Kilau who fought against the occupants once near Kampung Hulu Cheka at Ulu Cheka, Jerantut District, Jerantut, Pahang. Biography He was born in Kampung Sempiat, Benta, Mukim Tanjung Besar, Lipis in 1874 and died on November 10, 1977, in Kampung Ulu Cheka. His tomb can be visited at the grounds of Kampung Ulu Cheka mosque, Jerantut District, Jerantut, Pahang. He has two wives and is blessed with 11 children as a result of his marriage, the first wife named Patam Mat Sama having 8 children (4 men and 4 women) and the second wife named Hajah Halimat Binti Mak Long and 3 children (1 male and 2 female). Pawang
A pawang is a type of Shamanism, shaman from Indonesia and Malaysia. The pawang deals with magic involving weather, wild animals and spirits, but they may also be employed for cases of sorcery. Pawang are usually associated with mountains and sky in contrast to the traditional healers (dukun or bomoh) who are most often linked to rivers. Particular variations of pawang exist. Some specialise in Weather modification, controlling weather such as the ''pawang hujan'' (rain pawang). Jerantut District
The Jerantut District (Pahang Malay: ''Jerantet'') is a district in north-eastern Pahang, Malaysia. Jerantut is home to the National Park. Being the largest district in Pahang, it bounds the northern states of Kelantan and Terengganu, in the south, Temerloh District and Maran District, in the west, Lipis District and Raub District and in the east, Kuantan District. Tembeling River, the main river in this district is one way to the National Park and the surrounding villages in Ulu Tembeling, as well as national highway 1508 from Jerantut town.
