Paul Stinckens
Paul Stinckens (Weert, 25 June 1953) is a Belgian canoe sprinter who competed from the early 1970s to the early 1980s. He won two medals in the K-2 10000 m event at the ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships with a silver in 1974 and a bronze in 1973. Stinckens also competed in three Summer Olympics, but did not advance to the finals in any event he competed. Canoe sprint is a water sport in which athletes race canoes or kayaks on calm water. Overview Race categories vary by the number of athletes in the boat, the length of the course, and whether the boat is a canoe or kayak. Canoe sprints are sometimes referred to as flat water racing. The distances recognized by the ICF for international canoe sprint races are 200m, 500m, and 1000m. These races take place on straight courses with each boat paddling in its own designated lane.
