Patareni
Patareni are a hardcore punk, noise, and grindcore band from Zagreb, Croatia, formed in 1983. Owing to their formation at such an early date, they are considered to be one of the earliest grindcore bands. Their discography is extensive, consisting of many CDs, LPs, and split singles with bands such as Extreme Noise Terror, Agathocles and Cripple Bastards. Through these releases they gained a reputation as a cult band and many bands have cited Patareni as being one of their primary influences, which prompted the release of ''A Tribute to the Patareni'' by Roots Records and F'K'O" in 1994. In 2009, '' Terrorizer'' listed Patareni's ''Back to the Roots'' as one of its top 20 essential European grindcore albums. Cripple Bastards
Cripple Bastards is a grindcore band from Asti, Italy. They were formed in 1988 in order to keep their area on the hardcore punk map as most of the other bands around them were breaking up. Biography They were formed by vocalist Giulio the Bastard and guitarist Alberto the Crippler. They were initially a Heavy metal music, metal-influenced Punk rock, punk band called Grimcorpses. However, they were not satisfied with their music and soon decided to make their style more extreme, which was accompanied by a name change. They combined Hardcore punk, hardcore and metal influences with grindcore, but still managed to sound different from many other grindcore bands at the time. Anal Cunt
Anal Cunt, also called AxCx and A.C., was an American grindcore band that formed in Newton, Massachusetts, in 1988. From its inception, the band underwent a number of line-up changes and never had a bassist. The band, known for its flippant and noisy musical style as well as controversial lyrics, released eight full-length studio albums in addition to Anal Cunt discography, a number of compilations and extended plays. Anal Cunt disbanded in 2011 after the group's founder and frontman, Seth Putnam, died of a suspected heart attack. The band is often referred to by their initials A.C. (often written as AxCx) due to the offensive nature of their name and censorship limits on some radio and publications, and many of their album covers simply display the initials A.C. Extreme Smoke
Extreme Smoke 57 are known as the first grindcore band from Slovenia. The band was formed in early 1990 in the city of Nova Gorica. Their influences include bands such as Napalm Death, Sore Throat, Fear of God, Seven Minutes of Nausea and Agathocles. Band members have played in different grindcore/noisecore/ crust/ drone/ hardcore acts like Patareni, Deeper Than World, Cadlag, PureH, Mozak, Panic Overdose, Absent Minded, Ear Slaughter, Diarrhoea, Strobodeath and Psihoza. Extreme Smoke 57 split in 1992, but reformed in 2008. Since their reunion the band has performed on some well-known European music festivals such as Metaldays, Obscene Extreme, EXIT and Punk Rock holiday. Agathocles (band)
Agathocles is a Belgian political grindcore band. Founded in 1985, it is mainly known for producing a large quantity of split seven-inch EPs. They play a style of grindcore they have dubbed "mincecore". Their lyrical themes have focused on anti-fascism, animal liberation and anarchism. All of its members are vegetarians. Their lineup has changed numerous times since they first started, the only consistent member being Jan Frederickx (also known as Jan AG). PureH
PureH is a Slovenian electronic music group formed in 1993, when their first tape ''Inertia'' appeared. Before that they were gathering experiences as musicians in several bands (Extreme Smoke, D.T.W., Patareni, etc.) The group initially consisted of a producer and video artist. After performing at the festival Break21, the group was joined by a drummer, guitarist and bass player. PureH have appeared on various compilation CDs, festivals, TV/radio commercials, World exhibition Expo 2000 and have received Bumerang 2000 alternative music award for experimental music. The remix album ''Signia'' was released in 2007 with artists KK Null, Eraldo Bernocchi, Surgeon (musician), Surgeon, Psychedelic Desert, Chris Wood, P.C.M. and others. Crucifix was an American hardcore punk band from the San Francisco Bay Area, active from 1980 to 1984. They were among the most popular acts of the San Francisco punk scene of the early 1980s.
