Patalganga is an industrial area of the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) Industrial Areas on MIDC Official Website near Karjat and Panvel. It been named after the adjacent Patalganga River. The nearest town and junction is Karjat. The nearest hospital is Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital. The Patalganga industrial area, adjacent to the Mohpada village, is one of the 13 chemical industrial areas developed by MIDC. A historical temple of the god Raseshwar is situated on the right bank of river Patalganga. The Patalganga industrial area is under the jurisdiction of Khalapur taluka (about 22 km) and under Raigad District (about 60 km). The area is surrounded by ranges of high mountains. Patalganga River
The Patalganga River () is a river that rises in the steep western scarps of the Matheran uplands where it branches off from the main ridge near Khopoli and maintains a general westward flow till it joins the Dharamtar Creek with a wide estuary. The tail-waters of the Khopoli power project are let into the river near Khopoli in Maharashtra, India. It comes at foremost in terms of pollution. It is one of the most polluted rivers of Maharashtra, source being from Patalganga MIDC. Industries in Patalganga MIDC include (see the site). These companies contribute polluting the river. MPCB provides no proper data regarding water quality which is a point which limits the protests from various NGO's and locals. Panvel () is a city and taluka in the Raigad district of Maharashtra, India. It is highly populated due to its closeness to Mumbai. Panvel is also governed for development purpose by the body of Mumbai Metropolitan Region. Raigad District
Raigad district (), previously Colaba fort, Colaba district, is a district in the Konkan division of Maharashtra, India. The headquarters of the district is Alibag. Other major cities in the district are Panvel, Karjat, Navi Mumbai, Khopoli, Shrivardhan and Mahad. The district was renamed to Raigad fort, Raigad after the fort that was the first capital of the former Maratha Empire, which in turn was renamed from its earlier name - Rairi. The Konkan Railway (abbreviated KR) is one of the 19 railway zones in India with its headquarters at CBD Belapur in Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. National Highway 66, commonly referred to as NH 66 (erstwhile NH-17 and a part of NH-47), is a mostly 4 lane 1640 km (1020 miles) long busy National Highway (India), National Highway that runs roughly north–south along the western coast of India, parallel to the western ghats, Western Ghats. The Mumbai–Pune Expressway (officially Yashwantrao Chavan Expressway) is India's first 6-lane wide concrete, access-controlled tolled expressway. It spans a distance of 94.5km connecting Raigad-Navi Mumbai-Mumbai, the capital of Maharashtra state and the financial capital of India, with Pune, the cultural and educational capital of Maharashtra.
