Doce Pares (Spanish for ''Twelve Peers'') is a Filipino martial art and a form of Arnis, Kali and Eskrima, that focuses primarily on stick fighting, knife fighting and hand-to-hand combat but also covers grappling and other weapons as well. In reality, the stick is merely considered an extension of the hand, and is meant to represent almost any weapon, from sticks to swords to knives to anything else you can place in your hand and use as a weapon in the modern context. John Pares Craine (June 28, 1911 - December 24, 1977) was the eighth bishop of the Diocese of Indianapolis in The Episcopal Church, serving from 1959 until his death on Christmas Eve in 1977, shortly before his scheduled retirement. Canon Rev. Norman Pares (16 June 1857 – 23 June 1936) was an English canon and amateur footballer who was on the winning side in the 1879 FA Cup Final. Family Pares was born at the family home at 12 Devonshire Gardens, Portland Place, London, the eldest son of John Pares (1833–1915) and Katharine (née Back).
