Panyu railway station () is a railway station currently under construction in Panyu District, Guangzhou, Guangdong, China. It is scheduled to open in 2021 with the Southern section of Guangzhou–Foshan circular intercity railway (Foshan West – Panyu section). It is situated underneath the existing Guangzhou South railway station, allowing for transfer between the two. History This station was originally planned to share the name "Guangzhou South" with the existing railway station. However, in August 2020, the currently under construction station was renamed Panyu. Panyu, alternately romanized as Punyu, is one of 11 urban districts of the prefecture-level city of Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong Province, China. It was a separate county-level city before its incorporation into modern Guangzhou in 2000. The present district covers an area of about . Geography Panyu lies at the heart of the Pearl River Delta, its boundary straddles from latitudes 22.26' to 23.05', and sprawls from longitudes 113.14' to 113.42'. Guangzhou–Foshan circular intercity railway, also known as the Guangfo ring intercity railway, is a regional rail in the Pearl River Delta Metropolitan Region intercity railway system.
