Pandit Niranjan Prasad
Niranjan Prasad (11 November 1941 – 31 March 2013) was an Indian flutist. Career Prasad was a disciple of bansuri and shehnai player Bholanath Prasanna, and belonged to the Banaras gharana. Prasad played the flute in Indian films and as part of various orchestral organizations. From 1974 he was associated with National Orchestra All India Radio, A.I.R. New Delhi and A.I.R. Lucknow. He retired in 2001. He was the founder of Dr. Ambedkar Sangeet Academy (Lucknow) and Ex-Professor N. R. Sangeet Vidhalaya (Allahabad). The music museum of Baghdad has a flute gifted by him to the institute. His work was featured in the Bollywood Movies ''Guddi (1971 film), Guddi'', ''Shor (film), Shor'', ''Dharkan'' and ''Prem Parvat''. He was an empaneled artist of ICCR. On the first anniversary of Prasad's death in 2014, "Niranjan Smriti", a tribute was organized at the Sangeet Natak Akademi in Lucknow. Mungara Yamini Krishnamurthy (20 December 1940 – 3 August 2024) was an Indian classical dancer recognized for her contributions to Bharatanatyam and Kuchipudi. She was a recipient of the Padma Shri (1968), Padma Bhushan (2001), Padma Vibhushan (2016) and Sangeet Natak Akademi Award (1977). Early life Krishnamurthy was born on 20 December 1940 in Madanapalli, in the present-day Chittoor district, of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. Her father, M. Krishnamurthy, was a Sanskrit scholar. She began her dance training at the age of five at the Kalakshetra School of Dance in Madras (present-day Chennai), under the guidance of Bharatanatyam danseuse Rukmini Devi Arundale. Plot Shankar loses his wife in an accident. She dies while saving her son. Due to the accident, Deepak loses his voice. Shankar is keen to hear his son's voice again; however, doctors suggest that Deepak has to undergo a surgery to get his voice back. Shankar tries hard to collect money for the surgery and finally is able to collect enough money for the surgery after a few hardships. Deepak undergoes the surgery successfully.
